GE Wins 88-MW Vietnam Wind Turbine Order (Ind. Report)

GE Renewable Energy reports receipt of an order from BIM Wind JSC to supply, install and commission wind turbines from its Cypress onshore wind turbine platform for an 88-MW wind project in Vietnam's Ninh Thuan province. The order includes a 15-year full service agreement.

The $135.9 million project is expected generate 306.9 million kWh per year for the national power grid when it comes online by the end Q3, this year.

GE Wins Second Vietnam Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

GE Renewable Energy is reporting receipt of a contract to supply eight units if its 3.8-137 MW wind turbines, including a 10-year O&M agreement, to support construction of the 30-MW Thuan Nhien Phong (TNP) wind farm in Binh Thuan province, in the South-Central Coastal region of Vietnam.

The project, which is being constructed by Construction Electricity Corporation (VNECO), will generate sufficient energy for roughly 45,000 Vietnamese households. In Vietnam, WTO Construction Trading JSC reports construction of its $432 million wind power project in the southern province of Ca Mau is now underway.

The project includes four wind power plants incorporating 83 wind turbines with a capacity of 4.5 MW each. The project, which is slated for completion in Q4 this year, has a PPA in place with Vietnam Electricity utility. GE Claims 27MW Vietnamese Wind Turbine Deal (Int'l. Report)

GE Renewable Energy is reporting receipt of contract to supply eight units of its 3MW-137 wind turbines for the Phuoc Minh wind farm in Ninh Thuan region, Vietnam. of the country.

. A consortium of PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation, Henste Engineering and IPC Group will provide full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the project which is expected to generate more than 100 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year to the national grid when fully operational in Q3, 2021. Vestas Wins Vietnamese Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

Vietnam-Thai Wind Project Construction Underway (Int'l. Report)

In Vietnam, a joint venture between the Truong Thanh Vietnam Group and the Thai-based Sermsang Power Corporation Public Company Limited is reporting construction of the V1-2 joint wind power project is underway in Vietnam's Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.

The 12-turbine project is expected to generate 162.97 million kWh per year of electricity and come in at roughly $96 million (US). Vestas Adds to Vietnam Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas reports it will supply an additional 50 MW of turbines for the second phase of the Hoa Binh 1 wind farm in Hoa Binh, a district of Bac Lieu Province, Vietnam. The contract includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement along with the supply and supervision of the installation of 13 V150 -- 4.2 MW turbines, ten of which will be delivered in 3.8 MW and three in 4.0 MW operating mode.

Banpu Acquires Vietnam Wind Farm (M&A, Int'l.)

Banpu Public Co Ltd, a leading integrated energy solutions company in Asia-Pacific, is reporting it will acquire the 37.6-MW El Wind Mui Dinh Wind Farm in Vietnam for $66 million (US), subject to adjustments. Banpu notes it has secured a feed-in-tariff of $0.085/kWh for a period of 20 years in a power purchase agreement with Vietnam Electricity.

The El Wind Mui Dinh Wind Farm began commercial operation in April, 2019, with 16 Enercon 2.35-MW wind turbines. Banpu has a 20-year full-comprehensive maintenance services agreement with Enercon GmbH. Ayala's AC Energy Vietnam Wind Projects Underway (Int'l. Report)

In the Philippines, Makati City-based Ayala Corp.'s power generation unit AC Energy, along with UPC Renewables, reports construction of two wind projects totaling 60 MW is underway in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. The projects will incorporate Vestas turbines of various power ratings with site-specific towers.

GE Wins Phuong Mai Wind Power JSC Turbine Contract (Int'l Report)

GE Renewable Energy is reporting a contract with Hanoi, Vietnam-based Phuong Mai Wind Power JSC, to provide 11 2.4MW-116 turbines and technical advisory service for the Phuong Mai 1 wind farm in Binh Dinh province. Phuong Mai Wind Power JSC is a Special Purpose Vehicle entity jointly invested by Truong Thanh Development and Construction Investment and Hanoi Construction - Industrial Investment

Siemens Gamesa Turbines Going to Vietnam (Int'l. Ind. Report)

Spanish wind energy major Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) reports it will supply 25 units of its 4.5-145 turbines with a 10 year service agreement for Hoa Thang Energy's 113 MW 1.2 wind farm in Vietnam.

Hoa Thang Energy Joint Stock Company is a special-purpose vehicle of Vietnam's construction group Trading Construction Works Organization. The project is expected to come online in 2021 and will generate sufficient energy for roughly 240,000 Veitnam households.

The Vietnamese government estimates the country's total power generating capacity will reach 125-130 GW by 2030, up from 46 GW in 2018. The government also aims for renewable energy to account for 15-20 pct of its total energy output by 2030 and has established a target of developing 6 GW of wind power capacity by 2030. Poyry, Banpu Power Constructing Vietnam Wind Project (Int'l.)

Helsinki-headquartered consulting and engineering firm Poyry Plc reports it is partnering with Thailand's Banpu Power for the construction and management of a 90-MW wind farm project in Vinh Chau, Vietnam.

The project will be built in three 30-MW phases. Detailed engineering design for the first phase is due to start this December followed by site mobilization in February, 2020. next year.

Vietnam's Largest Wind Farm Construction Completed (Int'l)

In Vietnam, Singapore-headquartered developer Blue Circle Pte Ltd. is reporting completion of the 12-turbine, 40MW Dam Nai project in Ninh Thuan province. The wind farm incorporates Siemens Gamesa G114-2.625MW turbines and is the country's largest onshore wind farm.

Commissioning is expected this month for commercial operations in December. Blue Circle notes that between 80MW and 120MW could eventually be added at the site.

With this new facility, Vietnam has approximately 269MW of installed wind capacity, according to Windpower Intelligence. The country's 2016-2030 renewable energy development strategy calls for 6GW of power by 2030.
