Adani Green Energy receives LOA for 600 MW wind-solar hybrid

Gujarat, India-based Adani Green Energy Limited reports its wholly owned subsidiary Adani Renewable Energy Holding Eight Ltd, has received a 25-year LOA for a 600 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid project from New Delhi-headquartered Solar Energy Corporation of India. The project is expected to be commissioned within 18 months of the signing PPA.

With this project, Adani Green's total renewable energy project capacity stands at 14,795 MW -- 2,950 MW operational and 11,845 MW under implementation, according to the company. Adani Green Energy Claims Major Solar Award (Int'l. Report)

Ahmedabad, India-headquartered Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has won the first of its kind manufacturing linked solar agreement from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

As a part of the award, AGEL will develop 8 GW of solar projects at various locations as well as establish 2 GW of additional solar cell and module manufacturing capacity no later then 2022. The award will entail a single investment of $6 billion and displace 900 million tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime.

With this win, AGEL will now have 15 GW capacity in operation, under construction or under contract. Indian 1,200 MW Renewable Energy Projects Tender Expected (Int'l)

On the Sub-Continent, the New Delhi-Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a second call for tenders for setting up of 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected renewable projects with guaranteed peak power supply. The detailed tender document is expected to be uploaded on SECI's website shortly.

In this tender, a project is expected to have two components -- a solar photovoltaic (SPV) system or a wind energy system or a hybrid system of both technologies, Projects selected under this RfS were eligible for two-part tariffs: Peak Tariff and Off-Peak Tariff. Indian Floating Solar Project Bid Dates Extended (Int'l Report)

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended the last date submit bids for 4 MW of grid-connected floating solar power projects with 2 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The projects will be developed at Kalpong Dam, Diglipur, North Andaman. The new deadline is May 4, 2020.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacture, dispatch, transportation, and storage of all equipment and materials such as the adequate capacity of solar PV modules with suitable ratings -- International Electrotechnical Commission or Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) standards.

The projects will be developed on a build-operate-own (BOO) basis and should achieve financial closure within a year from the effective date of the power purchase agreement (PPA) and commissioned within 18 months. Greenko, Renew Power Win 1200MW Indian Solar-Storage Tender (Int'l)

Greenko Group with 900 MW and Renew Power with 300 MW are reporting winning the New Delhi-headquartered Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) tender for for 1200 MW, with 600 MW assured storage capacity. The tender includes pumped hydro and battery of about 3000 MW and renewable energy generation capacity.

The Indian Union Power Ministry has mandated at least 21 pct of all energy requirements be from renewable energy sources by 2021-22. Azure Power Commissions 150 MW Indian Solar Project (Int'l Report)

In New Delhi, Indian solar power specialist Azure Power reports commissioning of a 150 MW solar power plant in Bhadla solar park in Rajasthan. This section is the first phase of 200 MWs allocated to Azure Power by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Government of India enterprise. Azure Power will supply power to SECI under a 25-yera PPA.

With this project commissioned, Azure Power has 1600 MWs of high-quality operational solar assets. In 2015, Azure developed the first-ever SECI solar power plant in the state of Rajasthan, which was also the largest solar power project under India's National Solar Mission at the time of its commissioning. Siemens Investing in Greenko's Poovani India Wind Farm (M&A, Int'l)

Siemens Financial Services (SFS) reports it has inked an agreement to invest an unspecified amount for a 46 pct stake in Indian renewable energy company Greenko Group's 114-turbine, 200 MW Poovani wind power project in Tamil Nadu, Southern India.

The Poovani wind project is part of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Wind Power Tranche II. The project is expected to generate sufficient energy for roughly 155,000 homes per year when fully online. Fotowatio Seeking Purchasers for Indian Solar Project (M&A, Int'l)

Madrid-headquartered large-scale solar power plant developer Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) is reportedly in discussions to sell its 100-MW power project in the Ananthapuramu Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh, India, in a deal worth Rs 500-600 crore. Possible investors reportedly include Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), green infra JV between PE fund Everstone Group, and UK-based Lightsource, BP's Eversource Capital and others.

The project was awarded a 100 MW PPA by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under the National Solar Mission programme in 2016. The project is FRV's first in India.
