Vestas Supplying Turbines for 226MW Russian Wind Project (Int'l.)

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is reporting receipt of a Russian order for the supply, installation and commissioning of 226 MW of wind turbines for commissioning in Q3, 2021. Long term management, service and maintenance is included in the contract.

The order was sanctioned by the Wind Energy Development Fund, a joint fund by Russian innovation development institution RUSNANO, and Finnish energy company Fortum. Vestas Touts 750 MW in 2019 Year End Orders (Int'l. Report)

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is reporting receipt of year-end orders totaling more than 750 MW from projects in the U.S., Russia, Mexico and Vietnam.

In the US, orders were received for 12 units of V110-2.0MW wind turbines and another 57 units of its V120-2.2MW wind turbines for an undisclosed customer, plus a second order for a 162 MW project that will incorporate V110-2.0MW wind turbines and V136-4.2MW wind turbines.

In Europe, the company previously announced another 252 MW request for its 1,800 MW agreement in Russia with the Fortum / Rusnano consortium.

In Italy, Vestas also announced an agreement to supply 37 MW in V110-2.0MW and V136-4.2MW wind turbines to two wind farm projects.

In China, Vestas won an order for 25 of its V110-2.2MW wind turbines for an undisclosed customer, as well as a second order for 23 units of its V120-2.2MW turbines.

Vestas, Rusnano Collaborate on Russian Made Wind Components (Int'l)

Copenhagen-headquartered wind turbine manufacturing giant Vestas Wind Systems A/S reports it has inked a pact with Moscow-based Rusnano with the aim of increasing the production of wind turbine components, supply chain optimization and wind energy related equipment in Russia. Vestas notes it is also considering deploying technologies developed by Rusnano portfolio companies in the manufacturing process.

The goal of the agreement is to strengthen both Vestas' and Rusnano's positions in the Russian sustainable energy market, according to the Vesta's release. Vestas' Russian Wind Blade Plant Construction Nears Completion (Int'l)

The Russian Association of the Wind Industry is reporting Vestas' new RUB 1 billion ($14.3 million) wid turbine blade which is under construction in Ulyanovsk, southern Russia, is nearing completion and expects to begin manufacturing 300 blades per year early in 2019.

Vestas presently produces nacelles for its 4MW platform at its factory in the neighbouring province of Nizhny Novgorod, and plans to set up a tower facility in Rostov, as part of its efforts to create a manufacturing hub in south-west Russia. Vestas partnered with Rusnano and the Consortium of Investors of Ulyanovsk Oblast to build the blade factory.
