EDL, Kinetrex Open Indianapolis RNG Facility (Ind. Report)

Further to our 4 March report, in Indianapolis, EDL Energy, Kinetrex Energy and South Side Landfill celebrated the opening of the Indy High BTU plant, which will convert landfill methane gas into renewable natural gas (RNG). The fully operational plant is Illinois' largest producing 8 million gpy of pipeline-quality RNG, according to the release.

The facility will supply Kinetrex Energy with RNG, which it will turn into liquefied natural gas (LNG) and sold to Midwest transportation fleets.

Kinetrex Energy Launches Indianapolis RNG Plant (Ind. Report)

Following up on our 8th Novemberm 2019 report, Indianapolis-based Kinetrex Energy is reporting the ribbon-cutting opening of of the Hoosier State's largest renewable natural gas (RNG) facility -- the $25 million Indy High BTU plant is capable of converting landfill methane gas into about 8 million gpy of RNG for transportation fuel.

UPS Announces Kinetrex, TruStar RNG Contracts (Ind. Report)

Atlanta-based logistics giant UPS reports it has entered into multi-year renewable natural gas (RNG) agreements with Indianapolis-headquartered LNG specialist Kinetrex Energy and White Plains, New York-based compressed natural gas (CNG) and renewable natural gas fuel specialist TruStar Energy which together will supply as much as 80 million gallon equivalents (GEs) of RNG to UPS over the terms of the agreements.

Kinetrex will supply UPS with up to 52.5 million GEs of RNG over the life of the contract to be used in its tractor trailer vehicles throughout the Midwest. TruStar Energy will supply UPS with up to 27.5 million GEs of RNG over the life of the contract to be used in California. The RNG will be used to fuel UPS's CNG-powered trucks in both Visalia and Moreno Valley, Calif.

Over the past decade, UPS has invested more than $1 billion in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and fueling stations in an initiative to cut its absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 12 pct across its global ground operations by 2025. Kintrex Indianapolis Landfill RNG Plant Underway (Ind. Report)

Following up on our June 17th coverage, Indianapolis-headquartered LNG specialist Kinetrex Energy reports work is underway on what the company claims will be the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) project in Indiana.

Kinetrex is working with Australia-based sustainable energy producer EDL and South Side Landfill of Indianapolis on the $25 million project that will process landfill methane into about 8 million gpy of RNG transportation fuel. The new RNG plant is expected to be fully operational in January, 2020. Kinetrex Touts Indiananapolis Landfill RNG Plan (Ind. Report)

Indianapolis-headquartered LNG specialist Kinetrex Energy is reporting it will capture landfill gas -- methane from the city of Indianapolis South Side Landfill and processes it into a fuel for shipping companies like UPS. The facility will be the company's first renewable natural gas (RNG) plant although it already fuels its trucking customers with gas purchased from other states.

The company estimates estimates that the RNG produced by the Indianapolis plant will replace more than 8 million gallons of diesel fuel.
