Greencoat Taking Stake in RWE Texas Wind Projects (M&A)

RWE Renewables reports it will sell a 24 pct stake in 4 onshore wind farms totaling 861 MW in coastal Texas to UK-based renewable energy manager Greencoat for roughly $160 million.

Three of the four projects are in operation and one under construction. RWE will continue to operate all four wind farms. The transaction is expected to close in Q1, this year. Statkraft to Build, Sell, Manage Two Irish Wind Farms (Int'l.)

Oslo-headquartered Statkraft reports it will begin construction of the 37.8 MW Cloghan wind farm in County Offaly and 25.2 MW Taghart wind (25.2MW) in County Cavan , Ireland, early in 2021.

Statkraft will manage the construction of both wind farms and provide operational management services in the operations phase then sell the two wind farms to Greencoat Renewables PLC when operational in 2022 for €123 million. The project and sale is in keeping with Statkraft's strategy to build, sell, operate and trade power, according to the release.

Statkraft secured 15-year fixed price contracts for the two wind projects and two solar projects in Ireland's first competitive auction under the Government's new Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS-1) earlier this year, according to the release. Greencoat Taking Stake in Humber Gateway Offshore Wind (Int'l. M&A)

In the UK, renewable energy major RWE AG reports an agreement to sell a 49 pct stake in the 219-MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm to Dublin-based Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc for £648 million, subject to RWE Supervisory Board approval. Closing is expected before the year end.

Greencoat invest in operating UK wind farms and other renewable projects. The transaction continues the successful relationship between RWE and Greencoat. The company is already a strong partner in other RWE UK projects, namely in the offshore wind farm Rhyl Flats as well as in the onshore wind farms Little Cheyne Court, Lindhurst and Middlemoor, according to a release. Greencoat Snares French Wind Portfolio for €30Mn (M&A, Int'l)

Dublin-based Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc is reporting the €30.3 million ($32.7 million) acquisition of a portfolio of three wind farms from UK infrastructure giant John Laing Group Plc.

The assets, which come with 16-year long term fixed rate project finance and have an overall net enterprise value of €95 million, include the 20.0MW Passilly wind farm in the Burgundy region, the 21.6MW Sommette wind farm in the Picardy region and the 10.3MW St Martin wind farm in Saint-Martin-l'Ars. With this acquisition Greencoat's total installed capacity increases to 528.1 MW.

As previously reported Mar.6th John Laing is quitting the standalone solar and wind markets, citing "industry-wide issues" and renewable energy write-downs and falling power prices.

The company, which claims to have invested approximately £850 million ($1.088 billion) in clean energy projects throughout the 2010s, intends to divest its solar and wind portfolio over the next two years. The company will, however, consider global opportunities that include "technologies that enable high penetration of renewables", transportation electrification and other decarbonisation and energy efficiency ventures. Greencoat Snares SSE Renewable's Tyrone Wind Farm (M&A, Int'l.)

In the UK, SSE Renewables is reporting the £51 million sale of its 8-turbine, 18.8 MW Slieve Divena II wind farm in County Tyrone to Greencoat UK. SSE Renewables will manage the facility on behalf of Greencoat, while SSE Airtricity will take 100 pct of the wind farm's power production.

The wind farm is adjacent to the 30MW Slieve Divena development, which Greencoat acquired in 2017.The sale is expected to close later thin month. Greencoat Acquiring Glennmont Partners' Laois Wind Farm (M&A)

Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc reports it has agreed to buy the 10 year old Gortahile wind farm in County Laois, Ireland, from Glennmont Partners. The wind farm generates sufficient power for about 20,000 homes. Details have not been released. The deal is expected to close next week.

UK-based Glennmont Partners also owns Gruig wind farm near Ballymena in Co Antrim. The company recently raised €850 million which it intends investing in renewable energy projects. Greencoat Acquiring 45.2 MW in Irish Wind Farms (Int'l, M&A)

Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc reports it will acquire 45.2 MW of wind farms in Ireland from BlackRock Real Assets, a fund managed by BlackRock Inc .for total of €88 million ($100.5 million). The acquisition includes the 36-MW Monaincha and 9.2-MW Garranereagh facilities. Greencoat will finance the purchase with funds from its €380-million revolving credit facility and expects the deal to be completed by the end of this month. Greencoat Snares €61Mn County Cork Wind Farm (Int'l. M&A Report)

Dublin-listed Greencoat Renewables reports the acquisition a 48.3 MW wind farm in Ballybane, Cork for €61.3 million. The purchase was funded by the company's €250 million credit facility.

Greencoat Acquires 9.2MW Knocknalour Wind Farm (Int'l, M&A)

Dublin-listed renewables Greencoat Renewables is reporting the acquisition of the 9.2MW Knocknalour Wind Farm in Co Wexford for €10.9 million. The Knocknalour facility, which incorporates 4 Enercon E70 turbines, was commissioned in September 2013, and has revenues contracted under the renewable energy feed-in tariff scheme.
