Greenalia to Develop 45 MW Spanish Wind Farm (Int'l.)

Greenalia Developing 13.5-MW Spanish Wind Project (Int'l.)

On the Iberian Peninsula, Coruna-based Spanish electric power producer and supplier Greenalia SA reports it will invest more than €10 million to develop the 13.5-MW, Rodicio II wind project in Galicia, Spain. When fully operational, the three-turbine project is expected to generate 41,308 MWh per year.

Greenalia Developing Canary Island Floating Wind Project (Int'l.)

Coruna, Spain-headquartered wind energy developer Greenalia reports it has begun development activity on 200MW of floating offshore wind projects off the Spanish island of Gran Canaria.

Greenalia has filed project and environmental planning applications for the four 50MW projects -- Dunas, Mojo, Cardon and Guanche -- each of which are located off the south-east coast of Gran Canaria island. Greenalia's Gran Canaria Floating Wind Farm Underway (Int'l Report)

In Spain, Coruna-based independent power producer and renewable energy specialist Greenalia reports construction of its first floating offshore wind energy installation is underway.

The 50 MW GOFIO wind farm Southeast of the Island of Gran Canaria incorporates four 12.5 MW marine wind turbines to generate sufficient energy for as many as 70,000 homes while avoiding 140,000 tpy of CO2 emissions, according to the company release. Greenalia Commissions Spanish Woody Biomass Power Plant (Int'l.)

On the Iberian Peninsula, Coruna-based Spanish electric power producer and supplier Greenalia is reporting the opening of its $135 million woody biomass plant which it touts as "the most technologically advanced plant in Spain."

EIB Funds Spanish Woody Biomass Plant (Int'l Report, Funding)

The European Investment Bank (EIB) reports it has granted a €50 million ($58.5 million) loan to a subsidiary of Coruna-headquartered Greenalia S.A. to finance a new biomass-fired power plant will generate approximately 324 GWh of electricity per year from locally sourced woody biomass and forest wastes.

The EIB financing, together with another €50 million ($58.5 million) loan from various financial institutions, will be provided via a Project Finance arrangement for the construction and operation of this new 50 MW facility.
