Power Solutions Inc., the new brand identity for the former Enable Energy Inc., which BayWa r.e. acquired in September 2020. BayWa r.e. Power Solutions is one of the leading solar and battery energy storage systems engineering, construction, and procurement (EPC) providers for the U.S. commercial, industrial and utility sectors.

BayWa r.e. Power Solutions has completed more than 100 MW of solar and 175 MWh of storage -- both standalone and solar-plus-storage installations -- and has a late-stage project pipeline of 600 MW of solar and 1 GWh of storage. BayWa USA, SDCP Ink California Solar+Storage PPA (Ind. Report)

Renewable energy developer and services provider BayWa r.e. is reporting a 20-year solar energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with San Diego Community Power (SDCP), the not-for-profit community choice energy program serving five cities in the San Diego region.

Under the agreement, SDCP will purchase power from the Jacumba Valley Ranch (JVR) Energy Park being developed by BayWa r.e.in San Diego County. The project will pair a 90MW (AC) solar photovoltaic array with a 70 MW/280 MWh DC-coupled battery energy storage system.

The project, which is expected to break ground early next year for commissioning and operation in Q1 2023. will generate sufficient power for least 52,000 households and offset more than 500,000 metric tons of carbon emissions over the life of the project. German renewables specialist BayWa r.e. GmbH is is reporting Provisional Acceptance for the re-powering of the Lake Farm solar park in Wiltshire, UK -- the second repowering deal finalised between BayWa r.e. and its client, Gresham House, in only two months.

Gresham House is a specialist alternative asset manager dedicated to sustainable investments across a range of strategies, including renewable energy and battery storage.

German renewables specialist BayWa r.e. GmbH reports it is acquiring Carcassonne-headquartered French wind and solar energy developer Enerpole. The company has a portfolio of 600-MW projects including 300 MW of solar and 300 MW of wind capacity.

Active in France since 2005, BayWa r.e. has installed and commissioned 315 MW of wind and solar farms, and is responsible for the technical and commercial management of almost 600 MW. BayWa r.e. now has a project pipeline of 2.2 GW under development in France (1 GW wind and 1.2 GW solar) and is working on the development of technological solutions such as Floating-PV and Agri-PV in France. The Czech government is to achieve 22 pct of renewable energy in total energy consumption by 2030 and to that end offers a "New Green Savings Program" and other incentives for rooftop PV installations. Silfab recently launched its new Elite line of solar modules, the highest efficiency, most durable module yet produced by the company. The panels operate at lower temperatures in concert with superior low-light performance, which together increase energy yield by as much as 6 pct on a kWh/kWp basis. The advanced back-contact technology reduces front-cell metallization, minimizing shading losses while simultaneously alleviating locked-in mechanical stress in the electrical contacts, according to Silfab. We have an offtake agreement for Yatpool's output with business energy retailer Flow Power, a reflection of the growing appetite for corporate renewable power purchase agreements." Hershey Announces BayWa Solar Projects Agreement (Ind. Report)

The Pennsylvania-headquartered chocolate maker Hershey Co. reports it is partnering with BayWa r.e. and National Grid Renewables to develop solar projects that will help the company transition its Texas and North Carolina operations to renewable energy and reduce its carbon footprint.

To that end, Hershey has a 15-year PPA with BayWa r.e. that will enable the financing and construction of Hershey's first utility-scale, 20-MW solar farm in Camden, NC. Hershey also has a PPA with National Grid Renewables for 50 MW, 118,000 MWh per year solar project currently under construction in Denton County, Texas.

Combined, the two solar projects are projected to cut Hershey's CO2 footprint by 115,650 tpy and support the company's science-based GHG reduction targets. BayWa Offloads First Croatian Wind Farm (Int'l. Report, M&A)

BayWa r.e. reports the sale of its 10.25 MW Orjak wind farm in Croatia to Austrian energy services provider KI-Kelag International GmbH.

The Orjak wind farm in the municipality of Omis was developed by BayWa r.e. subsidiary ECOwind and incorporates five 2.05 MW turbines generating over 25,000 MWh per year -- sufficient power for approximately 7,000 Croatian households. The project was BayWa's first project in Croatia and Southeast Europe where it is currently developing several projects.

BayWa Researching Green Hydrogen Potential (Int'l. Report, R&D)

BayWa r.e. and its Dutch subsidiary GroenLeven are reporting a contract for the operation of the SinneWetterstof Hydrogen Pilot Project. The project is being built by the Netherland's largest energy developer and operator Alliander N.V. to research and test how local hydrogen production can follow the generation profile of a solar plant to ultimately reduce grid congestion.

This project, which is expected to be operational by late 2021, will source energy from a 50 MWp solar farm, previously built by GroenLeven, to generate green hydrogen as a storable form of energy by electrolysis of water.

Natural Power Monitors 250-MW TX Wind Project (Ind. Report)

BayWa Opens German LNG, Bio-LNG Fueling Station (Int'l. Report)

In Germany, BayWa Energy GmbH is reporting the opening of Germany's first LNG filling station for trucks at VW's HQ in the town of Wolfsburg, in Lower Saxony.

The facility, which is operated by BayWa Mobility Solutions, will also offer bio-LNG in a second phase.

Danish global wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is reporting receipt of an order from BayWa r.e. 22 V150-4.2 MW turbines delivered in 4.3 MW power optimized mode for BayWa's wind project in Lyngsasa, Kronoberg County, Sweden. The contract includes turbine supply, installation and commissioning as well as a 25-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.

The 95 MW project will feature a Vestas Online® Business SCADA solution to lower turbine downtime and optimize energy output. In the Old Dominion State, Richmond-headquartered Dominion Energy is reporting six new solar projects totaling 350 MW in its Virginia and North Carolina serive area will provide 100 pct clean renewable energy to serve Facebook.

The six solar projects include: the 20 MW Montross Solar in Westmoreland County, Va. (completed) ; 20 MW Gloucester Solar in Gloucester, Va. (completed); 80 MW Grasshopper Solar in Mecklenburg, Va.; 75 MW Chestnut Solar in Halifax County, N.C.; 75 MW Pecan Solar in Northampton County, N.C. (completed); and the 80 MW Gutenberg Solar in Northampton County, N.C. Dominion Energy developed the Montross Solar project, and the other projects have been acquired or will be acquired from EDF Renewables Inc., BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC and Strata Solar.

The solar projects are all expected to be fully operational by mid-2020. Dominion aims to have 3 GW of new solar and wind energy in operation or under development by 2022. Senvion Installs France's Tallest Wind Turbine (Int'l Report)

Hamburg-based German on and offshore wind turbine manufacturer Senvion is reporting the installation of the tallest wind turbine in France for BayWa r.e. GmbH.

With a tip height of 200 meters, the Senvion 3.0M122 wind turbines are currently being installed in the 18 MW Les Landes wind farm in the French department of Haute Vienne.
