USTC Takes Majority Stake in CM Biomass (M&A, Int'l. Report)
USTC Group, CM Biomass
Danish logistics and commodities trader USTC Group has acquired 60 pct interest in Kobenhavn-based CM Biomass, a major independent wood pellet trading company.
CM Biomass will form a new, separate entity in the USTC Group portfolio that already includes companies such as Bunker Holding, Uni-Tankers, and Unit IT.

Enviva Purchasing Georgia, SC Wood Pellet Plants (M&A)
Bethesda, Maryland-based woody biomass pellet specialist Enviva reports it has agreed to purchase Georgia Biomass Holding 800 mtpy woody pellet plant in Waycross, Georgia, from innogy SE and one of its subsidiaries for $175 million cash subject to usual adjustments.
Enviva will also acquire Enviva Pellets Greenwood Holdings which, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, owns a pellet production plant in Greenwood, South Carolina, for $132 million and the assumption of a $40 million third-party promissory note.
Enviva plans to invest $28 million to increase the Greenwood plant’s production capacity to 600,000 mtpy by the end of next year, according to the release.

Andritz Scores Japanese Biomass Boiler Order (Int'l. Report)
Austrian technology group Andritz AG is reporting receipt of an order from Toyo Engineering Corporation fpr delivery of a fluidized bed boiler for installation at a 50-MW biomass power plant to be constructed for Obayashi Kamisu Biomass Power Generation Corporation in Kamisu, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan.
The woody pellet burning power plant, which is slated for commissioning in 2021, will generate sufficient power for 110,000 households.
