Nordex Scores 29.5 MW Finnish Turbines Order (Int'l. Report)

Hamburg, Germany-headquartered wind turbine specialist Nordex Group is reporting receipt of an order for five N163/5.X wind turbines totaling 29.5 MW, including a 30 year Premium Service contract, from the Finnish renewable energy investment and asset management platform Low Carbon.

The turbines, which will be installed at the Morknasskogen wind farm near the west coast community of Vaasa, are expected to generate sufficient power for more than 30,000 homes and avoid over 24,700 tpy of CO2 emissions when commissioned in 2023. Siemens Energy Gear for Virginia Offshore Wind Farm (Ind. Report)

Munich, Germany-headquartered Siemens Energy reports it will supply the main electrical equipment for the grid connection of Dominion Energy Virginia's 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, 27 miles offshore of Virginia Beach.

The wind farm is the largest offshore wind project under development in the US and will incorporate: up to 180 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 Direct Drive wind turbines; three 800 MW offshore platforms: three power transformers, three shunt reactors, one medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and three high-voltage GIS systems. Semco Maritime is responsible for design, procurement and installation of the electrical equipment.

Once fully operational in 2026, the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind will generate sufficient power for roughly 660,000 Virginia homes and prevent up to 5 million tpy of CO2 emissions, according to the company. GE Tapped for Indian 55 Onshore Wind Turbines Order (Ind. Report)

GE Renewable Energy reports its has been selected by Continuum Green Energy to supply, install and commission 55 sets of its 2.7-132 onshore wind turbines for the 148.5-MW Morjar, Bhuj wind farm in the state of Gujarat.

When fully operational, the project is expected to generate sufficient power for roughly 125,000 households in India. The project has a 25-year PPA with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Blattner Tops 50,000 MW Renewable Energy Milestone (Ind. Report)

Nordex Claims 33MW French Turbine Order (Int'l. Report)

Hamburg-based wind energy giant Nordex Group is reporting receipt of an order from RWE Renewables France for 10 units of its N117/300 wind turbines, including service contracts, for two wind farms in northern France.

Nordex will supply six N117/3000 turbines on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 76 metres for the 18MW onshore wind farm Les Hauts Bouleaux in the Oise Department. Four N117/3600 turbines with hub height of 91 metres will go to the 15MW Martinpuich wind farm in the Pas-de-Calais Department. Both projects are expected to be commissioned early next year. GE Claims 327MW Indian Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

GE Renewable Energy reports receipt of a contract from New Delhi-headquartered SB Energy to supply, install and commission 121 sets of onshore wind turbines, for a 327MW wind farm in Madhya Pradesh, in Central India.

The project, which is expected to generate sufficient energy for 250,000 Indian households , is "one of the largest wind projects in India", according to GE. Vestas Wins Vietnamese Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

Vestas is reporting receipt of an order from Vietnamese renewable energy developer Soc Trang Energy Joint Stock Company for 7 units of its V150-4.2 MW wind turbines totaling 29 MW with customised towers for the shallow water -- intertidal Soc Trang 7 wind project in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. The order includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Neoenergi Considers Brazilian Offshore Wind Projects (Int'l.)

Neoenergia (Iberdrola) reports it is investigating Brazilian offshore wind projects that would deploy wind turbines of more than 10 MW , particularly in Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro and Ceara reagins, each of which has 3,000 MW of development capacity, according to the release.

Neoenergia is also studying possible investments in hybrid wind-solar plants and evaluating a possible project of this type in Paraíba where it is building the Chafariz Wind Complex, with 471.2 MW. SSE Orders Chinese Manufactured Wind Turbine Jackets (Int'l.)

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) Renewables is reporting the selection of a Chinese manufacturer over the local Scottish firm Burntisl and Fabrications' (BiFab) nearly idle yards to fabricate 84 of the 114 wind turbine jackets for its Seagreen offshore wind farm 17 miles from the Angus coast.

Vestas Adds to Vietnam Wind Turbine Contract (Int'l. Report)

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas reports it will supply an additional 50 MW of turbines for the second phase of the Hoa Binh 1 wind farm in Hoa Binh, a district of Bac Lieu Province, Vietnam. The contract includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement along with the supply and supervision of the installation of 13 V150 -- 4.2 MW turbines, ten of which will be delivered in 3.8 MW and three in 4.0 MW operating mode.

AGL Energy's Coopers Gap Installs Last Turbine (Int'l. Report)

In the Land Down Under, AGL Energy is reporting the last of 123 GE wind turbines has been installed at the 453-MW Coopers Gap project in Queensland.

The Cooper's Gap project, which generated its first power last June, is the second greenfield project of AGL's Powering Australia Renewables Fund (PARF), which was co-created with QIC -- an investment company owned by the Queensland government. Coopers Gap will generate sufficient power for roughly 264,000 average Australian homes.
