Viridiant Snares Richmond Region Energy Alliance (M&A, Ind. Report)

In Richmond, Virginia, Viridiant, f.k.a. EarthCraft Virginia, is reporting acquisition of the Richmond Region Energy Alliance and rolling it into a newly Created Community Energy Services division of Viridiant. The new division will expand Viridiant services to include technical support for mortgages on energy-efficient properties, educational programming and home energy audits for residences and businesses in the Richmond area.

Viridiant provides consulting, education and certification for people seeking to add environmentally friendly, clean and energy efficient components for new or existing buildings. The acquisition included the transfer of grant funding that was provided by the ConseRVAtion Fund of the Community Foundation for Greater Richmond, and other existing assets. Entegrity Boasts Efficiency Upgrades, LEED Cert.(Ind Report)

In Little Rock, Entegrity -- f.k.a. Viridian -- is reporting its recent $500,000 office building renovation saves or creates enough power to balance out all of its energy use.

With the energy efficient upgrades, the building has electrochromatic windows that tint at the command of a Wi-Fi signal; composting and recycling; high-control HVAC systems; a rooftop solar array; and all-LED lighting.

The building is "one of the only net-zero buildings in the state. and the second building in the world to get LEED Zero certification, and the first in the United States," according to Entigrity. VA. Firms Lauded with Viridiant Green-Building Awards (Ind. Report)

In the Old Dominion State, Richmond nonprofit Viridiant, administers of the EarthCraft brand of green-building programs, has named its 10th annual Sustainable Leadership Award winners for environmentally friendly and sustainable "green" building practices.

The notable local winners included Henrico-based NBJ Architecture, Sustainable Design Consulting LLC, which received this year's Visionary Award recognizing leadership in sustainable buildings and communities, as well as University of Richmond student Jennifer Kearney, winner of the Next Generation Award for her work educating fellow students on waste reduction and energy and water conservation. Hollyport Ventures, Christiansburg-based Community Housing Partners, and Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity were also honoured. Viridian Planning Dublin Bioenergy Plant (Int'l Report)

Belfast-headquartered Northern Ireland energy player Viridian reports it is set to construct a bioenergy plant near Dublin next to a gas-fired power station previously built by Viridian. The new plant would generate up to 3.8 MW of electricity from 90,000 tpy of non-hazardous biodegradable waste.

The company is now seeking a five-year extension to a planning permission originally granted to Stream BioEnergy in 2013, but now held by Donegal-based bioenergy development company Connective Energy.
