$2Bn Indonesian Floating Solar+Storage Plant Planned (Int'l. Report)

Singapore-based headquartered renewable energy developer Sunseap is reporting a MoU with the government of the Indonesian island of Batam to develop a $2 billion, gigascale floating solar array with built-in energy storage capacity.

Spread over an area of some 1,600 hectares on top of the Duriangkang Resevoir the 2.2GW PV project will be wired into a 4,000MWh energy storage system and is expected to generate more than 2,600GWh of clean electricity a year, while offsetting 1.8 million tpy of CO2. Sunseap Announces Guohe Starkle Energy Fund (Int'l Report)

Singapore-headquartered solar power specialist Sunseap Group is reporting its agreement to establish a Chinese clean energy investment fund in partnership with local private equity firm Guohe Capital and renewables developer Starkle Energy.

The Guohe Starkle Energy Fund, which will invest in and manage clean energy projects in China with a focus on solar power, will be looking for opportunities in the transport, information and communications and biomedical sectors as well as in the heavy industries. The private equity firm will be in charge of arranging funds, while the two renewable energy firms will consult on the targeted projects and participate in managing, operating and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Sunseap Floating Solar Farm Slated for Singapore Harbor (Int'l)

In Singapore, Sunseap, a sustainable energy provider, reports it will construct a 5-MWp offshore floating photovoltaic (PV) solar system north of Woodlands Waterfront Park, along the Straits of Johor. When fully operational, the facility will generate about 6,388 MWh per year of renewable energy and eliminate about 2,600 tpy of GHGs over the next 25 years, according to the Sunseap release.
