RE Royalties Loans $2.3Mn for Ont. Energy Storage (Ind. Report)

Vancouver-based renewable energy royalty-based financing specialist RE Royalties Ltd. reports it has entered into a $2.3 million loan agreement with Switch Power Ontario Battery Operations Corp. (OPCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgary-based Switch Power Corporation, to finance OPCO's acquisition of four operational energy storage projects totaling 1.97 MW/4.38 MWh in Ontario.

RE Royalties will receive a 5 pct royalty on all gross revenues received by the Operating Projects for the life of the Energy Services Agreements which have initial terms of 10-12-years with options to extend.

The Operating Projects are adjacent to commercial buildings owned by large property managers or REITs and utilize battery technologies from Tesla and Sungrow to significantly reduce their electricity costs by supplying power during periods of peak demand. Sungrow Supplying Broad Reach Energy Storage Projects (Ind. Report)

Houston-headquartered independent utility-scale power producer Broad Reach Power LLC reports it will purchase 1 GW of energy storage batteries from China's Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd for installation at six standalone battery storage projects to be constructed in Texas.

Broad Reach's existing portfolio includes 13 GW of utility-scale solar and energy storage power projects in Montana, California, Wyoming, Utah and Texas.

Sungrow expects to supply roughly 1.8 GWh of turnkey energy storage systems utilizing both NCM and LFP technology, for deployment in the US this year, according to the release.

Europe's Largest Energy Storage Project Comes Online (Int.l)

China's Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd reports the largest energy storage project in Europe, the 100MW/100MWh Minety plant with Sungrow's 1500V energy storage system solutions, has been grid-connected and is now fully operational.

Sungrow supplied both NCM and LFP battery energy storage systems featuring high integration, which minimize the footprint, slash the commissioning duration and significantly reduce the system cost. The solution meets the latest UK frequency regulation requirement called dynamic containment -- requesting the plant to respond to the power instruction of the grid within 1 second.

Sungrow Supplies Iowa's Largest PV Power Plant (Ind. Report)

San Francisco-based renewable energy iverter supplier Sungrow reports it has supplied 34 inverters completing a 127.5 MW solar facility in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.

The Wapello Solar project -- the largest solar project in the state -- was developed by Clenera and constructed by RES, and features 318,000 Risen Energy bifacial solar panels mounted on FTC Solar's Voyager single-axis trackers. The facility began commercial operation on March 8, and has a 25-year PPA with Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO). Sungrow Debuts 1500V LFP ESS Solutions (New Prod. & Tech.)

China-headquartered solar inverter and energy storage system (ESS) specialist Sungrow Power Supply Co. has released its latest 1500V LFP energy storage system (ESS) solutions suitable for various commercial and utility-scale applications.

The ESS solutions allow the PCS capacity varying from 1MW to 6.9MW, and LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery rated at 1500V which can be assembled to an integrated volume of up to 4.5MWh, When paired with renewable energy, the all-in-one flexible system can meet frequency regulation, peak shaving, demand charge management, ancillary services and related requirements and enable minimized cost. Sungrow Supplying Inverters to Oman PV Plant Project (Int'l.)

Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, reports it will supply 1500V SG250HX inverter solutions to the 500 MWac IBRI II project in Oman. The delivery of inverter solutions will commence in Q2 this year.

The IBRI II PV project is an Independent Power Project (IPP) to be developed on a BOO (build, own, operate) basis. The $400 million project is located roughly 300 km west of Muscat is expected to come online in the summer of 2021 when it will supply power to state-owned utility Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) under a 15-year contract. UK OK's Europe's Largest Battery Energy Storage Project (Int'l. Report)

In the UK, London-based Energy storage developer Penso Power reports receipt of the necessary approvals for a 150MW battery energy storage installation near Swindon, south-west England, the largest project of its kind in Europe. The first 100MW phase of Minety project will enter operation later this year with the remaining 50MW going live in 2021.

Penso Power has also inked an offtake agreement with Shell Energy Europe for the project's original 100MW. G2 Energy is the project's principal contractor. Sungrow Debuts Solar Energy Storage System (New Prod. & Tech.)

China-headquartered solar inverter and energy storage system (ESS) specialist Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd reports the official North American debut of its fully Integrated Energy Storage System Solution and DC Coupled PV & Storage System Solutions at ESA's Annual Energy Storage Conference & Expo held recently in Phoenix, Arizona.

As one of the first on the US market to offer high-power capabilities, ST556KWH-250 features four units of 60kW modules which enables flexible design to customize system capacity and module quantity. The main innovation behind the new ESS solution is its integration with Samsung's latest E3 Battery to obtain a smaller size and higher energy densities, along with minimized on-site labor and wiring. Sungrow Supplying Solaria Energia Spanish Solar Parks (Int'l)

Sungrow Power Supply Co., a Chinese inverter solution supplier for renewables, reports it is supplying its 1500V inverters to Pamplona, Spain's Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente (Solaria) for 12, 400 MW solar PV parks presently under construction in Spain. The 12 power plants will incorporate more than 1,100,000 photovoltaic solar modules and generate sufficient electric power for 150,000 residences.

The Sungrow SG3125HV Central Inverter with advanced three-level technology has a maximum efficiency of up to 99 pct and is an ideal match for Spain's climate conditions and the complex requirements of the Spanish grid code.
