Hamburg, Germany-based bankrupt wind turbine manufacturer Senvion reports it is in talks with Siemens Gamesa over the sale of a substantial part of its business.

Senvion, which is in self-administration after declaring insolvent in April, plans to reach a final agreement on certain services and onshore assets in Europe by the end of the month. The agreement on exclusive talks is consistent with insolvency plans adopted by the creditors' assembly on Sept. 11 and was also approved unanimously by Senvion's creditors' committee, the company added. Downer Expects $45Mn Hit Over Aussie Wind Farm Delay (Int'l Report)

In the Land Down Under, Sydney-based engineering firm Downer EDI reports it expects a negative impact of up to $45 million to its full year 2019 results following the bankruptcy of Hamburg-based German on- and offshore wind turbine manufacturer Senvion SA, the company's construction partner in the Murra Warra wind farm in Victoria. The expected charge is related Downer's obligations for completing the 61-turbine wind farm.

Hamburg-based German on- and offshore wind turbine manufacturer Senvion and Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG (TWB II) are reported to have agreed on a new wind turbine supply contract for the Trianel Borkum II wind farm.

Initially, construction of the 200-MW project was to have gotten underway in mid-April 2019. By then, 15 of the 32 wind turbines had already been delivered on time and transported to the base port in Eemshaven. The remaining 17 of the 32 wind turbines are now slated for delivery in autumn 2019. German Q1 Onshore Wind Installations Becalmed (Int'l Report)

Fachagentur-Windenergie (FA Wind), the German onshore wind agency, is reporting onshore wind installations in Germany dropped 87 pct in Q1 of 2019. The agency reported only 41 turbines totaling 134MW went online -- 13 pct of the average first quarter performance for between 2016 and 2018 period.

Thirteen Vestas turbines, 11 Enercon, seven Nordex, six Senvion, three ENO Energy and a single Siemens Gamesa model were spread across seven of the country's 16 states, with 13 turbines in the western state of Rhineland Palatinate alone. Eight turbines were part of repowering projects meaning net capacity growth was lower than 134MW.

Out of 730 turbines that won an allocation in 2017, only 35 have been commissioned, five of them in the first three months of 2019. The permitting situation has slightly improved with 111 turbines (413MW) getting the green light in the first quarter, a third more capacity than the average of the same periods of 2017 and 2018. Windpower Alliance Investigating Wind Blade Erosion (Ind. Report)

An alliance of ten of the world's largest wund industry player -- DNV GL, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, LM Wind Power, Orsted, Senvion, Mankeweicz, Akzonobel, Aerox-CEU, Polytech, Hempel and PPG -- are reporting their collaboration to form Comprehensive Methodology for Blade Rain Erosion Analysis on protecting turbine blades from weather damage. The project will investigate the damage caused to leading edge wind turbine blades from the high-speed impacts of raindrops, identify and develop protection systems and recommended practices for designing a protection system against rain erosion which will be published by July 2020.

Senvion Claims European Wind Turbine Contracts (Int'l Report)

Hamburg, Germany-headquartered wind turbine manufacturer Senvion SA reports it has inked four wind turbine supply contracts totaling more than 47 MW for projects in Belgium, France and Portugal.

In Belgium, Senvion concluded deals with EDF Luminus and Eoly for the Sint Gillis Waas and Rebaix wind farms, respectively. Four machines will be installed next summer including 3.4M104 and 3.4M114 models. Senvion will also provide maintenance for 20 years. Senvion will also supply four 3.4M114 turbines for the Aschere-le-Marche wind farm in France, which is being developed by ABO Wind and owned by CEZ Group. The deal includes a 15-year maintenance contract.

Suez Gulf Offshore Wind Bidders Win Extension (Int'l Report)

EnBW Touts First Swedish Wind Farm Investment (Int'l)

Karlsruhe, Germany-headquartered developer-utility EnBW reports its first Swedish wind farm investment in the 11MW Rammarehemmet in the town of Tidaholm. The project will incorporate three 3.4MW Senvion turbines and is due to enter operation in the summer of 2019.

Although the majority of EnBW's 938.45MW of operational wind capacity is in Germany, the developer also owns projects in Turkey (262.8MW) and has sites under construction in the US and France. Whirlwind starts construction of 10-MW wind farm in Scotland

The project, which will use five Senvion MM92 turbines, is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year, the Yorkshire-based wind energy company added. The wind farm secured planning consent from the Highland Council in October 2013 and also obtained a contract for difference (CfD) in the UK's first CfD round. It is expected to generate enough power for almost 8,500 homes. The Herald reported today that work on the wind farm is starting after Whirlwind has secured funding from Clydesdale Bank, including a GBP-12.75-million (USD 17.8m/EUR 14.5m) term loan and GBP 8 million in ancillary facilities. Hamburg, Germany-headquartered wind turbine manufacturer Senvion reports it has secured a contract from Indian clean energy firm ReNew Power to deliver 44 Senvion 2.3M120 turbines for the 101.2MW Bhuwad Wind project in Gujarat, India. When fully operational the project is expected to deliver sufficient power for approximately 100,000 Indian homes. Senvion Reports New Markets Wind Turbine Installations (Int'l)

In Germany, Hamburg-headquartered wind turbine manufacturer Senvion is reporting the installation of 33 Senvion 3.4M114 turbines at the 112 MW Egersund wind farm in Rogaland, Norway. The project with Norsk Vind Egersund AS will have a total rated output of 112 MW and generate sufficient energy for approximately 20,000 Norwegian households.

In Serbia, the 8MW Malibunar Wind Farm installed 4 Senvion MM100 turbines that will supply 7,200 Serbian households.

In the Republic of Ireland. the Teevurcher Wind Farm, northwest of Dublin, installed five MM82 wind turbines with a total output of 10 MW to power approximately 7,000 Irish homes per year. Senvion Scores 97 MW Argentine Wind Turbine Deal (Int'l)

Hamburg-headquartered Senvion, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbines, has secured an agreement for its first partnership in Argentina with Paris-headquartered EREN Renewable Energy for the supply and delivery of 27 Senvion 3.6M114 NES turbines.

Upon completion by the end of December, 2018, the Los Hercules wind farm will see a total rated output of 97,2 MW. The wind farm will be built by Senvion on a full EPC basis. Offshore Nordsee Wind Turbine Installations Completed (Int'l)

Innogy SE reports the installation of all 54 Senvion 6.2M126 wind turbines at the 332-MW Nordsee One wind farm in the German North Sea has been concluded and the project is set for commissioning before the year end.

Canada-based Northland Power Inc. holds an 85 pct stake in the project while Innogy SE retains the remaining 15 pct. Senvion Installs Low-Speed Turbine Prototype (New Prod & Tech)

German wind turbine maker Senvion SA is reporting the first installation of its 3.4M140 model wind turbine prototype wind turbine at Notus Energy Group's project in the municipality of Heckelberg-Brunow in Brandenburg, northeastern Germany.

The 3.4M140 turbine with hub heights of 110 and 130 meters, is specifically designed for low wind conditions, such as forested and mountainous areas. Trianel Borkum II Offshore Wind Project Secures Financing (Int'l)

The German state-owned bank KfW Group and an international banking consortium reports it will participate with over €300 million in financing for the proposed Trianel Borkum II offshore wind project in the German North Sea. The 203-MW project is expected to come in at €800 million.

The German municipal utilities network Trianel GmbH holds a 37.99 pct interest in the Trianel Borkum II project, while utility EWE AG owns 37.5 pct . The remaining 24.51 pct is held by Zurich-based municipal utility Elektrizitaetswerk der Stadt Zuerich (EWZ) and its investment partner Fontavis.

Okanagan Wind's Pennask Project Now Online (Ind. Report)

In British Columbia, Canada, Okanagan Wind is reporting that its 10 Sevion 3.2 M114 CCV wind turbine Pennask Project is now operational and generating power for the province's electricity grid.

The Pennask project, which is located on Crown Land, was developed in colaboration with the Penticton Indian Band, the Westbank First Nation, and the Upper Nicola Band. Banks Confirms £210Mn Funding for UK Wind Projects (Int'l Funding)

In the UK, Durham-headquartered Banks Renewables reports it has secured £210 million in financing from Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Investment Solutions, Santander, ING, National Australia Bank and Rabobankfor the construction of three UK wind farms totaling 151MW.

The wind projects are the 88MW Kype Muir and 51MW Middle Muir projects in South Lanarkshire and the 12MW Moor House wind farm near Darlington in northeast England.

Senvion Inks 84-Wind Turbine Australian Order (Int'l)

German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion reports it has inked a conditional deal with Nexif Energy for the EPC contracts and maintenance agreements for the 25 turbine Glen Innes Wind Farm in New South Wales and the 59 turbine Lincoln Gap Wind Farm in South Australia.

Both wind farms will see the introduction of the new Senvion 3.6M140 turbine into the Australian market. Compared to its predecessor, the energy yield has been increased by up to 20 pct at wind speeds of 7.5 m/s, and the lifetime has been extended by 25 pct from 20 to 25 years. Improvements to the blades have resulted in lower sound in all operating modes. Combined, the projects will deliver over 300 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy to Australian consumers.

Since commencing operations in Australia in 2002, Senvion has installed 218 wind turbines from across the Senvion two megawatt series with a cumulated rated power of over 440 MW in Australia.
