Nuseed Suppling Carinata to European Biodiesel Producer (Int'l.)
Nuseed,Carinata,Saipol
Date: 2020-07-22
Nuseed Limited, a subsidiary of Nufarm Limited, is reporting a new agreement with French oil seed processor Saipol, the largest biodiesel producer in Europe, to supply Nuseed Carinata as a feedstock for certified low carbon oil for renewable fuels and high protein non-GMO meal for livestock feed.

The Nuseed Carinata production system achieves best in class greenhouse gas reduction (GHG), certified by the leading independent globally recognized Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), according to the company website.

Nuseed plans to significantly scale-up production of carinata grain in Argentina over coming seasons, with longer term plans to develop the crop in additional South American markets and other parts of the world.

Carinata mustard is a high-yield oil-seed crop that can be grown on poor quality land at low cost. Additional information on carinata can be found at www. growcarinata.com. AltAir Biojet Fuel Producer Awarded RSB Certification (Ind. Report)
AltAir Fuels,Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials
Date: 2018-01-31
Seattle-based AltAir Fuels reports its 40 MMgy biojet fuel production facility in Paramount, California, has been certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) to produce biojet fuel, renewable diesel and naphtha. AltAir Fuels has been a member of the RSB since 2014.

According to Geneva-headquartered RSB, the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group (SAFUG) of 27 airlines endorses AltAir's fuels. SAFUG members have pledged to achieve RSB or equivalent certification. The Natural Resources Defense Council has also issued a recent report encouraging airlines to purchase certified-sustainable biofuels and recommended the RSB framework.

Since January 2016, AltAir has been the only refiner to continually produce biojet for commercial use. UPM Biofuels Scores RSB Sustainability Certification for Carinata Biofuel Feedstock (Int'l, Ind. Report)
UPM Biofuel,Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials
Date: 2018-01-15
Helsinki, Finland-headquartered UPM Biofuels is reporting receipt of a sustainability certificate from the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) for the cultivation of Brassica carinata (Carinata) as an oilseed crop specially designed for sustainable production of biofuels.

The RSB certification in biofuel feedstock production complements UPM Biofuels' existing sustainability certifications like International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) and RSB certifications for its UPM BioVerno biofuel production.

RSB is one of the European Commission's approved voluntary schemes used to show compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive's sustainability criteria. In addition to EU RED criteria, the sustainability of biofuels is evaluated against 12 principles which have been approved by a wide variety of stakeholders, including NGOs and UN agencies.
