Date: 2021-06-11
Valance, France-headquartered Dracula Technologies is touting its inkjet-printed organic photovoltaic (OPV) solar cell technology called LAYER (Light As Your Energetic Response). The OPV printed modules run on natural or artificial ambient light, can be used to power low-consumption indoor devices , do not use rare earths or heavy metals and are created from carbon-based material.

Dracula Technologies has raised €4.4 million ($5.4 million) to date -- €2 million in 2016 from angel investors for a pilot line, and €2.4 million in 2020 from MGI Digital and ISRA which the company is using to increase module production during its pre-industrialization stage. Commerical-scale production is expected to commence in 2024.
