OX2 to Construct, Divest Finland's Largest Wind Farm (Int'l.)

OX2 is reporting an agreement to construct and divest a 455 MW wind farm with 69 turbines in Lestijarvi, Finland, to a consortium of Finnish energy companies -- Kymppivoima Oy (65 pct), Oulun Energia (25 pct) and Kuopion Energia (10 pct) -- for roughly €650 million. Construction is slated to start immediately for expected completion in early 2025.

OX2 will construct the wind farm under a tailored fixed price agreement that includes a 15 year technical and commercial management agreement. OX2 will also construct a significant grid infrastructure to connect the wind farm, including substation and a 58 kilometers 400 kV transmission line.

OX2 Acquires Two Swedish Solar Energy Projects (Int'l., M&A)

Stockholm, headquartered wind and solar renewable energy developer OX2 reports acquisition to the rights to two solar energy projects totaling 45 MW in Skane, Sweden, from Helios Nordic Energy.

The parties will jointly develop the projects until the necessary permits are obtained, then OX2 will later be responsible for construction and operation. The projects will be part of OX2's early stage project development portfolio.

In other OX2 news, OX2 reports it is about to commence the environmental impact assessment procedure for two large-scale offshore wind power projects of up to 160 turbines in Finland's Gulf of Bothnia Exclusive Economic Zones. Project Halla is located west of the island of Hailuoto and project Laine is located west of the city of Pietarsaari. The projects are currently in a very preliminary stage, and the actual electricity production would only start at the end of this decade. 42MW Swedish Wind Farm Comes Online (Int'l. Report)

The Marguerite European Infrastructure Fund is reporting its 42MW onshore wind farm in Brannliden, Skelleftea municipality, Sweden, is now fully operational. The facility was constructed by Sweden's OX2 under a 2018, EPC contract and will now be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm.agreement.

GE Supplying Cypress Turbines for Finnish Onshore Project (Ind Report)

GE Renewable Energy reports it has been selected by Hamburg, Germany-based OX2 as the supplier for the 132 MW Metsalamminkangas wind farm in Finland, which will use 24 GE Cypress onshore wind turbines representing GE's first Cypress-equipped wind farm in Finland.

The deal, which includes a multi-year service contract, takes full advantage of the Cypress Platform's two-piece blade design provided by LM Wind Power, a GE Renewable Energy business. The turbines, which will be equipped with GE's Ice Mitigation System, are expected to be installed in Q2 2021 for commissioning and operation by the end of 2021. Vestas Announces OX2 Wind Turbine Supply Order (Int'l. Report)

Danish global wind turbine manufacturer Vestas reports receipt of an an order from the Stockholm-headquartered rewnewnable specialist OX2 for the wind energy projects Kropuln and Storbacken in Western Finland.

The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a 30-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement and a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution to lower turbine downtime and optimize the energy output.

The projects, which will be completed on a "merchant basis" without any direct financial support, have a total capacity of 60 MW of V150-4.2 MW wind turbines delivered in Power Optimized Mode. Turbine delivery is slated to begin in Q2, 2021 for an expected commissioning in Q3.
