Duke Energy 22.6-MW N.C. Solar Park Underway (Ind. Report)

Duke Energy Corp reports construction is underway on the 22.6-MW solar park in Cabarrus County North Carolina.

The solar park, which will incorporate 77,000 Jinko Solar bifacial modules on single-axis trackers, will be owned and operated by Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions -- a new commercial brand of the utility.

The project is being constructed by California-based construction group Swinerton and is expected to be commissioned and operational by the end of the year when it will generate sufficient energy for roughly 5,000 homes. JinkoSolar's 20 GW Solar Cell Plant Construction Underway (Int'l.)

JinkoSolar, one of the largest solar module producers in the world, reports it is constructing the world's largest -- 20 GW -- solar cell factory in Chuxiong, Yunnan Province, China.

The facility, which is slated to be fully operational by the end of the year, will triple the company's overall production capacity to 30 GW, according to the release. Jinko Bifacial Modules Break Efficiency Record (New Prod & Tech)

Shanghai-headquartered solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. reports it has broken the world record for maximum conversion efficiency for its bifacial solar modules, hitting 22.49pct, as verified by TÜV Rheinland, an independent provider of technical services for testing, inspection, certification, consultation, and training.

To improve the efficiency of its mass-produced modules the company applied a newly developed anti-reflection coating (ARC) and advanced metallization technology alongside other proprietary technology and incorporated into the cell design, eliminating the inter-cell gapto ensure higher efficiency and reliability, according to a release.

According to its statement, JinkoSolar has an integrated annual capacity of 14.5 GW for silicon wafers, 9.2 GW for solar cells, and 15 GW for solar modules, as of September 30, 2019, according to the company. JinkoSolar Joins the RE100 and EP100 Green Initiatives (Int'l.)

Shanghai-headquartered Solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. reports it has committed to the RE100 and EP100 initiatives which are led by the international not-for-profit Climate Group.

The RE100 initiative and its partner companies are committed to 100 pct renewable power and a low carbon economy. Accordingly, JinkoSolar will power all of its solar plants and global operations with 100 pct renewable power by 2025. By 2030, the Company will deploy an energy management system across its operations and improve its energy productivity by 30 pct when compared to 2016. JinkoSolar has also signed up for the EP100 Cooling Challenge to increase the energy efficiency of its cooling operations. JinkoSolar Supplies 5MW PV Modules for Greek Solar Project (Int'l)

Shanghai-headquartered JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. reports it supplied 5 MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules to Juwi Hellas S.A for the Mesokomo Project in Northern Greece. The project is owned by ETVA VIPE S.A and was successfully connected to the grid in December 2018.

JinkoSolar provides solar modules, solar system integration services and pv products to clients spread across 80 countries. During the third quarter, most of the shipments went to the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, China, North America and Europe.
