The $12,003,741 project is being funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Trust Fund and the the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing the initiative through partnership with the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ).
Although Jamaica is 90 pct dependent on fossil fuels for its energy needs, the country's
National Energy calls for over 20 pct of the island's overall energy mix to come from renewable sources by 2030.
