GE to Implement Solar/Energy Storage in Upstate NY (Ind. Report)

GE Renewable Energy is reporting an agreement with Helios Energy to deliver two energy storage systems to be integrated with solar arrays for the Lenox Solar / Energy Storage project in Lenox, NY.

The hybrid system, which is slated to be operational in Q2, 2020, will use a direct DC coupled configuration with a single inverter and single point of interconnection shared by the solar array and the storage system, helping improve the overall energy output of the system while optimizing equipment, installation costs and increasing overall system reliability. Bioenergy Infrastructure Group Raises Additional $198Mn (Funding)

In the UK, Reading, Berkshire-based independent power producer specializing in the biomass and waste-to-energy specialist Bioenergy Infrastructure Group reports it has closed a new equity raise from existing shareholders to fund the next stage in its growth and development.

Infracapital, Helios Energy Investments and Aurium Capital Markets have invested an additional £150 million ($198 million) to bring the aggregate funding to over £600 million ($792 million) since 2015. The biomass and waste-to-energy sector supplies around 20 pct of the UK's renewable energy.
