Greencoat Acquiring Glennmont Partners' Laois Wind Farm (M&A)

Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc reports it has agreed to buy the 10 year old Gortahile wind farm in County Laois, Ireland, from Glennmont Partners. The wind farm generates sufficient power for about 20,000 homes. Details have not been released. The deal is expected to close next week.

UK-based Glennmont Partners also owns Gruig wind farm near Ballymena in Co Antrim. The company recently raised €850 million which it intends investing in renewable energy projects. Greencoat Acquiring 45.2 MW in Irish Wind Farms (Int'l, M&A)

Irish renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat Renewables Plc reports it will acquire 45.2 MW of wind farms in Ireland from BlackRock Real Assets, a fund managed by BlackRock Inc .for total of €88 million ($100.5 million). The acquisition includes the 36-MW Monaincha and 9.2-MW Garranereagh facilities. Greencoat will finance the purchase with funds from its €380-million revolving credit facility and expects the deal to be completed by the end of this month. Greencoat Snares €61Mn County Cork Wind Farm (Int'l. M&A Report)

Dublin-listed Greencoat Renewables reports the acquisition a 48.3 MW wind farm in Ballybane, Cork for €61.3 million. The purchase was funded by the company's €250 million credit facility.

With the acquisition, Greencoat's operational wind farm portfolio now stands at 251 MW, according to the company. Greencoat Acquires 9.2MW Knocknalour Wind Farm (Int'l, M&A)

Dublin-listed renewables Greencoat Renewables is reporting the acquisition of the 9.2MW Knocknalour Wind Farm in Co Wexford for €10.9 million. The Knocknalour facility, which incorporates 4 Enercon E70 turbines, was commissioned in September 2013, and has revenues contracted under the renewable energy feed-in tariff scheme.

EDF Off-loading Half of its UK Wind Assets (Ind. Report, Int'l)

French energy giant giant EDF Energy Renewables reports it is in talks to sell a 49 pct stake in its portfolio of UK wind farms in a deal approaching £600 million. EDF owns 23 onshore wind farms and one offshore wind farm off the north-east coast of England that generate about 550MW of electricity.

Barclays is advising EDF on the sale which would be the largest in a series of EDF transactions intended to expand into other energy sectors. To that end, in November 2017, EDF sold an 80 pct stake in five of its onshore wind farms totaling 100 MW to Greencoat UK Wind. Brookfield Earns €7m on Bord Gáis wind farm sales Brookfield Renewable Partners, the Canadian company that acquired Bord Gáis's wind farms for about €700m in 2014, made a $9m (€7.3m) profit selling 20pc of the assets last year, it has revealed. Brookfield sold 137 megawatts of wind farms in Munster last year to Greencoat Capital for an undisclosed sum. The farms were the Knockacummer facility in Co Cork, which has 100MW of generation capacity, and the 37.6MW Killhills wind farm in Co Tipperary. The assets were spun out by Greencoat Capital as a seed portfolio to Greencoat Renewables, which floated on the Irish Stock Exchange last year. Greencoat is backed by AIB and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund. The two wind farms were part of the Bord Gáis Energy portfolio sold by the State three years ago to meet targets set by the Troika. They were bought as part of a larger portfolio of wind assets and projects in development by Brookfield Renewable Partners in a €700m deal.

Brookfield has a total of 76 wind facilities North America, Europe, Brazil, and Asia. The wind farms have a total of 3,529MW of installed capacity. Its total wind farm and solar farm assets were valued at $8.6bn at the end of 2017, which included property, plant and equipment of almost $6.9bn. Brookfield Renewables Confirms 137MW Irish Wind Farms Sale (M&A)

Brookfield Renewable Partners is reporting the sale of 137 MW of wind farms in Munster last year to Dublin-headquartered Greencoat Capital for an undisclosed sum. The wind farm sale included the Knockacummer facility in Co Cork, which has 100MW of generation capacity, and the 37.6MW Killhills wind farm in Co Tipperary. The two wind farms were part of the Bord Gáis Energy portfolio.

Greencoat is backed by AIB and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund. Greencoat Snares 142 MW of Canadian Solar's UK Assets (Int'l, M&A)

In the UK, Dublin, Ireland-based renewable energy investor Greencoat Capital LLP is reporting its acquisition of 142 MW of UK solar assets from Canadian Solar Inc. Financial details were not disclosed.

The portfolio includes 24 facilities across the UK, most of which are accredited under the Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) regime, getting between 1.2 and 1.4 ROCs per MWh, with seven accredited under the feed-in tariff (FiT) regime.

With the acquisition, Greencoat Capital presently manages 470 MW of solar capacity in the UK. Greencoat Renewables Snares 9.2-MW Irish Wind Farm (Int'l, M&A)

Dublin-headquartered Greencoat Renewables Plc reports it has taken possession of the 9.2-MW Lisdowney wind farm in Leinster province, Ireland, which it purchased last July for €22.5 million, subject to an adjustment mechanism.

The wind farm, which went into production in November 2016, incorporates four Enercon GmbH E82 turbines. The wind farm benefits from a contract through 2031 under Ireland's renewable energy feed-in tariff (REFIT) scheme.

Owned by European renewables investment manager Greencoat Capital LLP, Greencoat Renewables had a 173-MW portfolio of wind farms as of December 2017. Greencoat UK Snares 69.5-MW Scottish Wind Farm (Int'l, M&A)

Greencoat UK Wind plc reports its acquisition of the 69.5-MW Corriegarth wind farm in the Scottish Highlands from Invenergy Renewables LLC for approximately £181 million ($232 million). With the acquisition, Greencoat's net generating capacity stands at 617 MW.

The Corriegarth facility, which has been in production since April, incorporates 23 Enercon E82 turbines. The wind farm's power is sold to a UK utility under a 15-year PPA and receives support of 0.9 Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) per MWh of generated electricity. Greencoat Renewables Seeks €250Mn for Wind Acquisitions (M&A)

In Ireland, Dublin-based Greencoat Renewables, a new wholly-owned subsidiary of Greencoat Capital, reports it will raise €250 million to fund a portfolio of onshore wind farms in Ireland.

Follwing on our March coverage, Greencoat Renewables acquired a 137 MW "seed portfolio" of wind power assets at two operating wind farms with a total of 56 turbines. The deal was funded by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and Allied Irish Banks, and now a new capital raise aims to position the group for future growth.

Greencoat, which plans to list on London's AIM market and the Irish Stock Exchange, will be Dublin's first listed renewable energy infrastructure company. In a statement, Greencoat said it plans to acquire other operating wind farms in Ireland as well as solar power projects in other Eurozone countries. Greencoat Acquires 16MW Langhope Rig Scottish Wind Farm (M&A)

London-headquartered Greencoat UK Wind reports the acquisition of the 16MW Langhope Rig wind farm in Scotland from GE Energy Financial Services for £39.8 million. The wind farm, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders, was developed and built by SSE and commissioned in December 2015. The Langhope Rig acquisition raises Greencoat's generating capacity to 436MW.

Greencoat Capital LLP is the investment manager to Greencoat UK Wind PLC, a sector-focused infrastructure fund invested in UK wind generation assets and listed on the London Stock Exchange's main market. Greencoat UK Wind is currently invested in 18 wind farms, both onshore and offshore, with net generating capacity of 400.1MW. In Ireland, Dublin-based Greencoat Renewables, a new wholly-owned subsidiary of Greencoat Capital, reports acquisition of the Knockacummer and Killhills wind farms totaling 137 MW from Brookfield Renewable Ireland.

The Knockacummer Wind Farm, located in Co Cork, incorporates 40 Nordex N90 turbines with a capacity of 100 MW. Killhills Wind Farm in Co Tipperary utilizes 16 Enercon E82 turbines with a capacity of 37.6 MW. The seed capital for Greencoat Renewables, which is managed by Greencoat Capital, is being provided by AIB and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF). Details of the two transactions have not been fully disclosed.
