Greenbacker Acquires Rights to 15.3-MW Maine Wind Project (M&A)

Kansas City, Missouri-based Greenbacker Renewable Energy Co LLC is reports the purchase of the rights to the 15.3-MW RoxWind wind project in Maine . The RoxWind project, which is expected to come online in Q3, 2021, was developed by Palmer Management Corp Horseshoe Valley Wind, and Solaya Energy.

With this project, Greenbacker's first wind asset in Maine, the company's portfolio has expanded to 543.1 MW, including to-be-constructed assets. Of these, wind accounts for 192.5 MW, while 338.6 MW are utility-scale and distributed solar plants. Greenbacker Acquiring Empire State Solar Portfolio (M&A, Ind Report)

Kansas City, Missouri-based Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company, an externally managed energy company that acquires and manages income-generating renewable energy and energy efficiency projects and other energy-related businesses, reports that through a wholly-owned subsidiary, it has signed the rights to a 110 MW portfolio of solar projects located in Greene and Albany counties, New York, from Chicago-based Hecate Energy. Closings to take place throughout 2020 and the facilities are slated to be fully operational in 2021.

The portfolio will sell a portion of the renewable energy credits generated to an investment grade off taker through a 20-year fixed price contract and will sell the remaining portion of energy and Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) attributes generated to two utilities through fixed price 20-year contracts. Greenbacker Confirms Multi-state Solar Portfolio Acquisition (M&A)

New York-based Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC reports the acquisition of the rights to 31.3 MW of commercial and industrial (C&I) portfolio solar projects including the rights to a 25.6-MW photovoltaic (PV) C&I portfolio from IGS Solar, consisting of projects in the states of California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington DC. All the project have off-take agreements in place and will be switched on between the last quarter of 2019 and third quarter of 2020.

The acquisitions grow Greenbacker's power generation capacity to about 552 MW, including 172.3 MW of wind, 367.7 MW of solar and 12 MW of biomass. Greenbacker Acquires Rights to 21.8 MW of NC Solar Capacity (M&A)

Kansas City, Missouri-based Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC reports that through a wholly-owned subsidiary, it has purchased the rights to a 21.8 megawatt portfolio of three solar energy projects in Camden, Jamesville and Martin counties, North Carolina from SunEnergy1 LLC. Construction of the facilities has commenced, with closings to take place upon their reaching mechanical completion. All three facilities are expected to achieve commercial operations in early 2019.

The Company is currently working to arrange back leverage financing as well as tax equity financing. Once operational, the SE Solar Portfolio will sell all power generated to an investment grade utility off taker through a 15-year fixed price PPA.

With the addition of the SE Solar Portfolio assets, the Company will own approximately 278.7 MW of generating capacity (including assets in development and construction) comprising 61.5 MW of wind facilities and 217.2 MW of commercial and residential solar facilities.
