Project Wheatland received $5 million for a $285 million biofuels plant being developed by Carbon Clean Energy (CCE). The plant will produce 16 million lpy of denatured ethanol for fuel blending, as well as 1.76 mmBtu of biogas and 12MWh of green power generation per year.
ERA also granted over $2 million to British Columbia-based SYLVIS Environmental Service's BIOSALIX which process uses municipal biosolids and other organic residuals as supplements to existing topsoil and feedstocks in topsoil production in order to grow willow wood biomass crops on reclaimed mine land. The biomass can then be used as feedstock in clean energy, reclamation or bioproducts development, according to the company.

In February, Ford Motor Company made a similar commitment to procure 500,000 MWh of locally sourced Michigan wind energy via DTE's MIGreen Power Program.
Among its clean energy efforts, GM is a member of the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance as well as an early signatory of RE100, which is a collaborative global initiative that brings together influential businesses that are committed to 100 pct renewable power and the delivery of renewable electricity.
DTE Energy, which has 13 wind parks in Michigan, plans to double its renewable energy capacity over the next five years, investing in another $2 billion by 2024. The utility also proposes to build at least 3,000 additional MW of solar and wind energy over the next 20 years. DTE currently produces about 1,000 MW of primarily wind renewable energy.

For the program, the community contracted with clean energy provider MC Squared to purchase most of the energy and all the renewable energy credits for residents and businesses that participate in the Village's Electrical Aggregation program. For residents in the program, the amount they pay on their ComEd bills for their electricity supply supports new energy from a mix of wind and solar projects -- all at the same price as conventional coal -- and gas-powered electricity. Currently, 74 pct of all energy used in Oswego is from renewable resources.

In 2017, the Hillsboro community purchased 1.73 billion kilowatt hours of green power -- electricity that comes from renewable resources like solar, wind and geothermal. The city also offset 35 pct of its power bill with renewable energy. All told, from the city government to the local industry to private residents, almost 65 pct of the electricity used in Hillsboro last year was green power. The city is aiming for 75 pct green power community-wide by 2035.
The city is also switching to LED lighting and sensor technology and has cut its overall energy consumption by 26 pct since 2009, leading the country, at least among members of the DOE Better Build Challenge.

Bungala project could end up being a 300 MW project if all three stages are built by the project owner
Italian energy giant Enel Green Power, along with the Dutch Infrastructure Fund. The project, which has a power purchase agreement with Origin Energy,
will generate approximately 570 GWh per year, sufficient energy for approximately 82,000 Australian households, according to a company statement.

The portfolio consists of two operating solar projects, the 29 MW Futtsu Solar project near Tokyo and the 10 MW Kanagi Solar project located in the Shimane prefecture. The portfolio also includes the 12 MW Otsuki Wind project located in the Kochi prefecture, and the 33 MW Ohorayama Wind project located on the island of Shikoku, and the 122 MW Tsugaru Wind project located in the Aomori prefecture, both of whicf are under construction.
The cash purchase price for the 122 MW Tsugaru Wind project is approximately $194 million, while the cash purchase price for the remaining 84 MW portfolio is approximately $131.5 million.
