NextChem, Enel Ink Green Hydrogen MoU (Int'l. Report)

In Milan, Italian engineering giant Maire Tecnimont S.p.A., through its NextChem subsidiary, and Enel Green Power, through its North American renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, Inc. are reporting a MoU to support the production of green hydrogen via electrolysis in the United States.

Under the MoU Enel will leverage NextChem's hydrogen technology and engineering expertise to convert solar energy into green hydrogen to be supplied to a bio-refinery.

Under the agreement, NextChem will act as technology and engineering partner and full turnkey EPC contractor, providing Enel Green Power with the necessary technical assistance in relation to the development and implementation of the project. Enel's Azure Sky Solar + Storage Project Underway (Ind. Report)

Enel Green Power North America reports construction of the 284 MW1 Azure Sky solar + storage project in Haskell County, Texas, is underway. The project is the company's second hybrid project in North America that integrates a renewable energy plant with utility-scale battery storage.

The Azure Sky solar + storage project's nearly 700,000 PV bifacial panels are paired with an 81 MW battery and is expected to be operational by summer 2021.

Enel Green Power Connects N. American Wind Farms (Ind. Report)

Enel, through its US renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, has begun operating a 50 MW expansion of the High Lonesome wind farm in Upton and Crockett Counties, in Texas, increasing the largest operational wind project in the Group's global renewable portfolio to 500 MW. The company also connected to the grid its 105 MW Riverview and 29.4 MW Castle Rock Ridge II wind farms in Alberta, Canada.

Enel Green Power North America has begun operating a 50 MW expansion to the High Lonesome wind farm in Texas, increasing the project's total capacity to 500 MW.

The 105 MW Riverview and 29.4 MW Castle Rock Ridge II wind farms in Alberta, Canada are connected and delivering energy to the power grid.

The High Lonesome expansion brings the project's overall investment to $720 million dollars, while the total investment for both Canadian projects amounts to over $210 million (Cdn).

Enel Announces US Wind, Solar Project Startups (Ind Report)

Enel Green Power (EGP) reports it has begun operations at two renewable energy plants in the United States. The projects include the first 252 MW phase of the 497-MW Roadrunner solar project in Upton County, Texas, and the 66 MW Whitney Hill wind power project developed by Swift Current Energy in Logan County, Illinois.

This announcement follows the recent start of operations of 450 MW of EGP's High Lonesome wind farm in Texas bringing the company's total new renewable capacity added in the US in 2019 to nearly 800 MW with another 1 GW currently under construction across six renewable energy projects. Enel Launches High Lonesome Wind Farm in Texas (Ind. Report)

Enel Green Power North America is reporting operations are underway at its 450-MW High Lonesome wind farm in Upton and Crockett counties, Texas.

The company plans to add 50 MW capacity to the High Lonesome facility bringing its total capacity to 500 MW. The construction of the expansion is currently underway with operations due to start in the first quarter of 2020. With the expansion, the facility is expected to come in at approximately $720 million. Gulf Pacific Power Takes 89 pct Stake in Wind Portfolio (M&A)

Alabama-headquartered Harbert Management Corporation (HMC) reports Gulf Pacific Power, LLC (GPP) has acquired an 80 pct stake in Enel Green Power North America Inc. (EGPNA) Renewable Energy Holdings' 812 MW portfolio of five operating wind projects in the U.S. and Canada.

GPP formed Gulf Plains Wind, LLC to acquire the interest in REP from GE Energy Financial Services and from (EGPNA) which has retained a 20 pct stake in REP and will continue to operate the Portfolio. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Portfolio includes the 235 MW Chisholm View facility in Grant and Garfield Counties, Oklahoma; the 200 MW Prairie Rose facility in Rock and Pipestone Counties, Minnesota; the 200 MW Goodwell facility in Texas County, Oklahoma; the 150 MW Origin facility in Murray and Carter Counties, Oklahoma; and the 27 MW St. Lawrence facility in Newfoundland, Canada, all of which have term PPAs in place.

Enel's Mt. Pulaski Ill. Wind Farm Construction Underway (Ind. Report)

Enel Green Power North America (Enel) is reporting construction is underway on its 24-turbine, Whitney Hill Wind Farm project adjacent to the recently completed, 74-turbine HillTopper Wind Farm near Mt. Pulaski, Illinois. The 66-MW Whitney Hill project is due for completion and commissioning before the year end. Construction costs have not been disclosed.

Enel Illinois, Missouri Wind Farms Construction Underway (Ind. Report)

Italy's Enel S.p.a, through its U.S. renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America reports construction is under way on the 66 MW Whitney Hill, Logan County Illinois and the 236.5 MW White Cloud wind farm in Nodaway County, Missouri. White Cloud, Missouri wind farms.

The 66 MW Whitney Hill wind farm, which is adjacent to the existing 185 MW Hill Topper wind farm that came online in December 2018, is slated to begin operations by the end of 2019. The 236.5 MW White Cloud, Missouri wind farm is expected to come online by the second half of 2020.

With the addition of Whitney Hill and White Cloud wind farms, the company's US capacity will come in at approximately 1250 MW from both wind and solar power. Italy's Enel S.p.a, through its U.S. renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America is reporting the purchase of Lenexa, Kansas-based renewable developer Tradewind Energy, Inc. 13 GW of wind, solar, and storage projects located throughout the U.S.

The acquisition includes geothermal, wind and solar power facilities in Kansas, Utah, North Dakota, Vermont and Nevada. Enel Green Power Activates 620 MW of US Wind Farms (Ind. Report)

Enel Green Power North America Inc (EGPNA) reports its 320-MW Rattlesnake Creek wind farm in Nebraska and the approximate 300-MW Diamond Vista wind farm in Kansas are now generating power.

The two facilities, which together cost about $830 million, have a combined capacity of about 2,600 GWh per year, have long-term PPAs -- the Rattlesnake Creek wind farm will sell its power to Facebook and Diamond Vista will supply power to software major Adobe Systems Inc. Diamond Vista also has three separate PPAs, the first two of which are for 100 MW each with global manufacturing company Kohler Co and City Utilities of Springfield. The third is for 84 MW with the Tri-County Electric Cooperative of Oklahoma.

Enel owns all of the "Class A" interests and manages and operates the wind farms. With these two wind farms, the total renewable capacity added by Enel Green Power around the world this year reaches 2.6 GW, of which over 830 MW in North America.
