275-MW Aussie Solar Farm Nears Construction Startup (Int'l)

In the Land Down Under, UK-based solar energy investor Octopus Investments and Australian renewable energy specialist Edify Energy are reporting financial close on the $450 million (AUS), 275-MW Darlington Point Solar Farm project in NSW. The project will incorporate more then 820,000 Canadian Solar HiKu modules (CS3W-P) mounted on a single-axis solar tracking systems.

Upon completion, the facility is expected to be Australia's largest solar power station. Details on construction contracts, solar supply contract, and Power Purchase Agreements are expected to be announced within days.

The project is being developed and structured by Edify Energy, which will retain an equity stake in the solar project.
