Dakota Ethanol Production Tops Billion Gal. Mark (Ind. Report)

US-based Dakota Ethanol reports it's facility in Wentworth, South Dakota, has produced over one billion gallons of ethanol since it began operation in September 2001.

UNDEERC Awarded $500,000 for North Dakota CCS Project (Funding)

Reporting from Bismarck, the North Dakota Industrial Commission reports it has awarded $500,000 in Renewable Energy Programme funding to the Energy & Environmental Research Centre at the University of North Dakota (UNDEERC) for the development of North Dakota's ethanol and carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility near Richardson.

Research for the facility will build on the successful outcomes of three phases of work which have been carried out since 2016. A CO2 Storage Facility Permitting Guidance Document will be compiled as part of the project to serve as a resource for other North Dakota renewable energy or biofuel producers interested in pursuing utilization of CCS technology, according to the release. "This project continues to help maximize the marketability of North Dakota ethanol through evolving CCS incentive programmes," the commission noted in a statement. North Dakota E15 Expansion Program (Ind. Report)

In Fargo, the North Dakota Corn Utilization Council and the North Dakota Ethanol Council (NDEC) have launched the North Dakota Unleaded88 Expansion Program. The goal is to partner with fuel retailers to provide drivers with Unleaded88, a higher octane fuel containing 15 pct ethanol and 85 pct gasoline.

"Expanding the availability of Unleaded88 creates more market stability when the agriculture industry is struggling with a number of significant uncertainties," according to a statement from North Dakota Corn Utilization Council chairman Terry Wehlander. N.D. Fuel Retailers Offering "Unleaded88" E15 Fuel (Ind. Report)

The North Dakota Corn Utilization Council (NDCUC) in partnership with the North Dakota Ethanol Council (NGEC) is implementing the North Dakota Unleaded 88 Expansion Program. Unleaded 88 is a higher-octane 15 pct ethanol (E15), 85 pct gasoline blend approved for use in light-duty vehicle models from 2001 and newer.

The Unleaded 88 Expansion Program provide funds for duel dispensing, piping, hardware and signage for distribution of blended of Unleaded 88 E15 or higher.

Capitalizing on Carbon Included at Ace Conf. (Events & Conferences)
American Coalition for Ethanol

The American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) reports its annual conference in Omaha, Nebraska, August 14-16, will feature a discussion on how the ethanol industry can benefit from the emerging carbon economy and the new opportunities during the Capitalizing on Carbon general session panel on August 15.

This timely discussion will be moderated by ACE CEO Brian Jennings, and includes Pam Miller, ACE board chair and director of industry and investor relations for Siouxland Ethanol LLC; Ron Alverson, ACE board chair and director of Dakota Ethanol; and Brendan Jordan, VP of transportation and fuels at the Great Plains Institute.
