Gevo NW Iowa to Sell RNG to bp (Ind. Report)

Further to our 3rd May coverage, Englewood, Colorado-based Gevo Inc. reports its wholly-owned dairy manure-based renewable natural gas (RNG) project company -- Gevo NW Iowa RNG, LLC (NW Iowa RNG) has inked agreements with BP Canada Energy Marketing Corp. and BP Products North America Inc. for the sale of NW Iowa RNG's production.

The NW Iowa RNG project, which is currently under construction for production early nest year, is slated to produce roughly 355,000 MMBtu of RNG per year for sale into the California market under dispensing agreements bp has in place with Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the largest fueling infrastructure in the US for RNG. Clean Energy, Total JV to Develop RNG (Ind. Report)

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and its largest shareholder, Total SE, are reporting a 50/50 joint venture to develop carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) production and fueling infrastructure facilities in the U.S..

The initial firm commitment is $100 million and can increase to $400 million as development opportunities progress. Total will be providing credit support for Clean Energy development in the RNG value chain, including $45 million for contracted RNG fueling infrastructure. The companies have already partnered to expand the use of RNG in the heavy truck market with the Zero Now program, which allows fleets to purchase RNG trucks for the same price as diesel trucks. Clean Energy Fuels' Whittier RNG Station Opens (Ind. Report)

In the Golden State, Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp.is reporting the opening of an RNG fueling station in Whittier, California. The station, which is owned by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD) but operated by Clean Energy Fuels, will supply RNG to fuel heavy-duty trucks and other medium-duty vehicles in the region, including LACSD's vehicles. The new station is expected to dispense over 30,000 gpy for a 50 pct increase from the prior facility.

Clean Energy Fuels Supplying RNG to LA Metro Bus Fleet (Ind. Report)

Clean Energy Fuels, TOTAL to Develop Additional Carbon-Negative Fuel and Infrastructure (Ind. Report)

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and its largest shareholder, TOTAL S.E., are reporting a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create a 50/50 joint venture to develop carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) production facilities in the United States, as well as credit support to build additional downstream RNG fueling infrastructure.

For ht project, Total will invest $50 million and Clean Energy $30 million for the proposed joint venture and TOTAL will be providing credit support of $65 million to support Clean Energy development in the RNG value chain, including $45 million for contracted RNG fueling infrastructure.

Clean Energy Fuels Inks Redeem™ RNG Deals (Ind. Report)

In the Golden State, Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is reporting new and extended contracts for more than 58 million gallons of Redeem™ renewable natural gas (RNG) to accommodate the continued demand for the sustainable fuel from key business segments including heavy duty trucking, solid waste and public transit.

Clean Energy's Redeem™ was the first commercially available RNG vehicle fuel derived from biogenic methane from dairy, landfill, and wastewater treatment plant wastes. Redeem reduces climate-harming greenhouse gas emissions by at least 70 pct and up to 300 pct depending on the source of the RNG, making it a negative carbon fuel.

In the Golden State, Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is reporting a major fueling infrastructure upgrade for trucks operating in the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach -- the country's largest maritime port complex.

Also in California, the company reports the City of Ontario has inked a 5-year RNG supply contract for roughly 3 million gallons of Redeem™; Nationwide Environmental Services, based in Norwalk, hasinked a 5-year maintenance and RNG supply contract for an anticipated one million gallons of Redeem; the Ccity of Sacramento has contracted for an expected 650,000 gallons of Redeem to fuel approximately 100 solid waste vehicles; Ruan Transportation Management Systems has contracted for an approximate 450,000 gallons of Redeem to fuel an additional 20 CNG tractors for its dairy operations; the City of Commerce has extended its operations and maintenance agreement for six years; and bus and rail service provider Omnitrans has signed a 5-year O&M agreement for two CNG stations that dispense an approximate 4 million gpy of fuel.

UPS to Purchase 170Mn Gallon Equivalents of RNG (Ind. Report)

Atlanta-headquartered logistics company UPS reports an agreement with Newport Beach California-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. to purchase 170 million gallon equivalents of renewable natural gas (RNG, aka biomethane) through 2026 -- the largest commitment for use of RNG to date by any company in the US with a range of 22.5 -- 25 million gallon equivalents per year.

RNG is a key part of UPS's strategy to increase alternative fuel consumption to be 40 pct of total ground fuel purchases by 2025, supporting the the company's efforts to reduce the absolute GHG emissions of its ground fleet 12 pct by 2025.

UPS has used more than 28 million gallons of RNG in its ground fleet since 2014. Clean Energy Fuels Goes All In on RNG Redeem (Ind. Report)

Newport Beach, California-headquartered Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is reporting it will convert all its natural gas fuel to its renewable product, Redeem, by 2025 as it positions itself to offer the cleanest available fuel alternative to diesel through a broad distribution network. Redeem would be sold at all of the company's 530 stations in North America, including 160 of those that serve Class 8 fleets,

The plan comes as regulatory agencies are considering how to toughen emissions regulations for nitrogen oxide, which produces smog and acid rain, and affects the human respiratory system.

In 2014, the first full year Redeem was available, Clean Energy delivered 20 million gallons of Redeem to its stations. In 2018 , it delivered 110 million gallons of Redeem, which represents 53 pct of the renewable natural gas delivered in the market, according to the Newport Beach, Calif-based company.
