UV Lauded for Energy Innovation, Efficiency Technology (Ind. Report)

Reporting from the Old Dominion State, the University of Virginia (UV) notes it has been recognized as the 2019 Innovation Award winner in the category "Higher Education Energy Efficiency Technology" by the Smart Energy Decisions Innovation Award Advisory Panel. The recognition was for the school's Delta Force innovation approach to energy efficiency advances.

Delta Forceis an internal performance contracting program that increases energy efficiency and guarantees energy savings. Delta Force identifies UVA projects that represent good opportunities for energy savings, funds those projects, then recovers 125 pct of the funding out of utility savings. Delta Force efforts have resulted in short ROIs and millions of dollar in energy cost savings. CPower Energy Wins East Anglia One Offshore Wind Contract (Int'l)

In the UK, Colchester-based wind service and resources specialist CPower Energy reports it has secured a preferred supplier contract to supply commissioning engineers during the construction phase of Belfast-based ScottishPower Renewables' East Anglia One, one of the world's largest offshore wind farm projects.

As well as commissioning managers and engineers, CPower Energy is approved to supply engineers for the offshore and onshore substations, wind turbine generators, logistics and supervisory control and data acquisition for the project.

When fully operational in 2020, East Anglia One will supply sufficient power for as many as 600,000 British homes. CPower Energy personnel are expected to start construction work on the project in the next few weeks. CPower Acquires Energy Efficiency Measurement Firm (M&A)

Baltimore-headquartered CPower is reporting acquisition of Pittsburgh-based energy efficiency measurement and verification services specialist eCap Network.

eCap helps customers monetize their energy efficiency projects in PJM and was an early market entrant in the energy efficiency measurement and verification niche.
