Quebec government-owned Hydro-Quebec and Evolugen, the Canadian operating business of Brookfield Renewable Corp., are reporting a 40-year escalating electricity PPA under which Hydro-Quebec will purchase the output of the 263 MW Lievre hydro-electric portfolio in Quebec, with of capacity.

The agreement involves integrating Evolugen's Lievre generating fleet into Hydro-Quebec's generation planning, including priority access rights associated with the US market.

Hydro-Quebec is Canada's largest electricity producer and one of the world's largest hydroelectric power producers. In Canada, Evolugen currently owns and operates 61 renewable power facilities, including 33 hydroelectric generating stations, 4 wind farms and 24 solar farms, totaling 1,912 MW.

Brookfield Renewable Corp. operates one of the world's largest publicly traded, pure-play renewable power platforms. Its portfolio consists of hydroelectric, wind, solar and storage facilities in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, and totals approximately 21,000 MW of installed capacity and an approximately 56,000-MW development pipeline, according to the company. Brookfield Renewable Acquires Distributed Generation Platform (M&A)

Toronto, Ontario-headquartered Brookfield Renewable Partners reports it has agreed to an $810 million acquisition of a scale distributed generation platform comprising 360 MW across nearly 600 sites in the U.S., a development pipeline of over 700 MW and a development and PPA origination team from Exelon Generation Company LLC.

Brookfield Renewable Partners operates one of the world's largest publicly-traded renewable power platforms. Its portfolio consists of approximately 19,400 MW of capacity and 5,318 generating facilities in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Hydroelectric power comprises approximately 64 pct of its portfolio. The also invests in, owns and operates wind, solar, distributed generation, and energy storage facilities. Brookfield Bids for TerraForm Power (Ind. Report, M&A)

Markham, Ontario-headquartered Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions is reporting a takeover bid for all outstanding shares of clean energy developer TerraForm Power, of which it and its affiliates presently own 62 pct.

TerraForm has stakes in 2,392MW of wind and 1,674MW of solar PV facilities in the US, Europe, Canada, Chile and Uruguay.

The deal is board, regulatory and other approvals.
