Gevo Providing ATJ Fuel to Avfuel Corp. (Ind. Report)
Englewood, Colorado-headquartered renewable fuels and chemicals manufacturer Gevo, Inc. reports it will once again provide its sustainable and renewable alcohol-to-jet fuel (ATJ) to Avfuel Corporation.
To date, Avfuel, has received commitments from high-profile OEMs including Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream and Dassault to use Gevo's ATJ blended with standard jet fuel. This blend not only meets ASTM D1655, but also for every one million gallons produced, approximately 10 million pounds of animal feed and protein goes back into the food chain, according to Gevo. Indian Jatropha Biofuel Blend Flight Completed (Int'l. Report)
India's first ever biofuel flight, operated by SpiceJet, completed its maiden trip toda. A 78-seater aircraft Bombardier Q400 aircraft, partially using biojet fuel, took off from Dehradun and landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
The biofuel for the flight was developed and tested by Dehradun-based CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum. SpiceJet's biofuel is a mix of the oil extracted from the seeds of Jatropha plant and regular aviation turbine fuel, the airline said. SkyNRG, AEG Fuels Supply Aviation Biofuels for Bombardier Demo Flights (Ind. Report, Int'l)
Geneva, Switzerland-based SkyNRG and AEG Fuels report they have completed the delivery of sustainable aviation biofuels for the Bombardier Business Aircraft demonstration fleet flying from Amsterdam to the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland. The fuel, which is produced by biorefinery AltAir Fuels, was supplied by SkyNRG and delivered to the KLM Jet Center who performed the re-fueling. This is the first delivery of biofuel completed by AEG Fuels.
