Espoo, Finland-headquartered renewable diesel specialist Neste and Avfuel Corp. have announces a strategic partnership to create an efficient, continuous supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the U.S.

Neste will supply Avfuel with SAF in sufficient volumes to meet the growing demands of Avfuel's customers, including fixed base airport operators, flight departments, original equipment manufacturers and commercial operators. Avfuel will be a branded SAF distributor for Neste and will sell the fuel under the brand name Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel. In Seattle, Leading Edge Jet Center (LEJC) a provider of business aviation services throughout the Pacific Northwest, is reporting the the introduction of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to its Fixed Base Operator facility at the King County International Airport-Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington, one of the busiest general aviation airports in the United States.

The offering is in partnership with Ann Arbor, Michigan-based global aviation fuels and services provider Avfuel Corporation which last August announced it would supply 7,300 gallons of SAD to operators flying in and out of Jackson Hole Aviation airfield in a demo to encourage commercial-scale SAF production and use. The initiative is part of a demonstration event to encourage further commercial-scale SAF production and use.

Englewood, Colorado-headquartered renewable fuels and chemicals manufacturer Gevo, Inc. reports it will once again provide its sustainable and renewable alcohol-to-jet fuel (ATJ) to Avfuel Corporation.

To date, Avfuel, has received commitments from high-profile OEMs including Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream and Dassault to use Gevo's ATJ blended with standard jet fuel. This blend not only meets ASTM D1655, but also for every one million gallons produced, approximately 10 million pounds of animal feed and protein goes back into the food chain, according to Gevo. Englewood, Colorado-based isobutanol specialist GEVO Inc. reports it has inked an agreement to supply its renewable alcohol-to-jet fuel (ATJ) to global aviation fuel supplier Avfuel Corporation, effective July 1, 2018.

Iniially, GEVO will supply Avfuel from its 70,000 gpy hydrocarbon processing facility in Silsbee, Texas. GEVO expects to construct a larger-scale hydrocarbon facility at its existing ethanol and isobutanol production facility located in Luverne, Minnesota, subject to financing. Upon completion of the Luverne Hydrocarbon Facility, GEVO would supply Avfuel with larger volumes of ATJ, ramping up to 1,000,000 gpy of unblended ATJ which, when blended with conventional jet fuel, would produce many millions of gallons of finished ASTM D1655 jet-fuel product. Avfuel services over 3,000 locations worldwide.
