Alfa Laval is reporting receipt of a €15.2 million order to supply a feedstock pre-treatment processing line to an un-named petroleum refiner to support the production of renewable diesel (HVO) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Europe.

The order includes Alfa Laval high-speed separators and various compact heat exchangers along with other equipment, engineering, and services to provide a pre-treatment processing line to remove contaminants from fats and oil feedstock prior to the conversion to renewable diesel and SAF. Alfa Laval Joins Zero Carbon Shipping Organization (Int'l.)

Lund, Sweden-headquartered fluids handling specialist Alfa Laval reports it has joined the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping advisory board.

The collaboration will focus on accelerating the development of low- and zero-carbon technologies and fuels through joint projects and activities such as the recently announced "SOFC4Maritime" green fuels program.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is targeting a 50 pct reduction of vessel-related greenhouse gas emissions amd overall decarbonization od the martime shipping industry by by 2050. Alfa Laval Test & Training Centre Trialing Marine Biofuels (Int'l.)

Lund, Sweden-based fluids handling specialist Alfa Laval reports its Test and Training Centre in Aalborg, Denmarg is collaborating with industry partners and research institutes for marine biofuels testing and taking a key role in the marine industry effort to meet the International Maritime Organization's (IMO's) goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 50 pct over 2008 levels by 2050.

The first biofuel tested at the Centre will be one produced in India by MASH Energy, which is created through pyrolysis of waste biomass.

The company also noted it is in talks with additional biofuel producers, as well as other research partners including Aalborg University, where fuels derived from hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) technology that can turn any wet organic material into an energy-dense bio-crude, are in focus. Alfa Laval Claims U.S. Renewable Diesel Equipment Order (Ind. Report)

Lund, Sweden-headquartered heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling specialist Alfa Laval reports receipt of a $14.785 million order to supply a processing line to Dallas-based independent petroleum refiner and marketer HollyFrontier Corporation to support the production of renewable diesel in the US. The order includes Alfa Laval high speed separators, various compact heat exchangers and other equipment, engineering and services to provide a pre-treatment processing plant to remove contaminants from fats and oil feedstock prior to the conversion to renewable diesel fuel. Delivery of equipment is scheduled for 2021.

Alfa Laval Announces St1 Biodiesel Plant Equipment Order (Int'l.)

Lund, Sweden-headquartered Alfa Laval is confirming receipt of a SEK 60 million ($6,015,924) order from Nordic energy supplier St1 for a process line for St1's new biodiesel plant in Gothenburg. The equipment will remove impurities from fats that will be processed into biodiesel.

Malta Raises $26Mn forThermal Energy Storage System (Ind. Report)

Boston-based electro-thermal energy storage specialist Malta Inc.reports it has raised $26 million to commercialize a heat pump energy storage system invented by the Nobel Physics laureate Professor Robert Laughlin of Stanford University, California.

Malta Inc. is looking to commercialize the heat pump energy storage system that uses electricity to drive a heat pump which converts the electrical energy into molten salt thermal energy by creating a temperature differential.

Malta Inc. will work with industry partners including Sweden-based heat exchange manufacturer Alfa Laval, Hong Kong-based Concord New Energy Group and US-based Breakthrough Energy Ventures LLC (led by Microsoft founder Bill Gates), to make this technology cost-effective. Alfa Laval Scores €72Mn Energy Efficiency Order (Int'l)

Lund, Sweden-headquartered Alfa Laval is reporting receipt of an order from a Taiwanese engineering company to supply compact heat exchangers to an unnamed petrochemical plant in the US. The order has a value of approximately 85 million Swedish krona (€72,828,000).

The order includes Alfa Laval Compabloc heat exchangers which will be installed in an ethylene glycol plant and used for a variety of process applications, including heat recovery, cooling and heating.
