Albioma Converting Guadeloupe Coal Plant to Biomass (Int'l Report)
Following up on our 23rd November, 2018 coverage, French renewable energy producer Albioma SA is reporting it has secured a €68-million ($76.8 million) loan for the conversion of a 34-MW power plant in Guadeloupe from coal to biomass.
The funding was arranged with BNP Paribas and CIC, which acted as co-arrangers, and Bpifrance.

Albioma Plans Coal-to-Biomass Conversion in Guadeloupe (Int'l)
French renewable energy producer Albioma SA reports its planned conversion of a 34-MW power plant in Guadeloupe from coal to biomass has been approved by the French energy regulator CRE. The agency approved a draft amendment to a PPA between Albioma and French electric utility EDF SA that is tied to the Albioma Caraibes power plant.
In granting approval,
the regulator determined that converting the facility to run on biomass will increase the share of renewables in Guadeloupe's energy mix to about 35 pct from the present 20.5 pct.
