Vestas Confirms 132MW Polish Wind Projects Order (Int'l Report)

Copenhagen-headquartered Danish wind OEM Vestas is reporting receipt of an order from Paris-based Akuo Energy to supply turbines and 15-year service agreements to three Polish wind projects totaling 132MW. Delivery is slated to get underway in Q3, 20102 for project completion and commissioning in mid 2021.

The three Akuo Energy wind projects include -- -- 19, V136-3.45MW turbines and one V126-3.45MW turbine for the Wielowies project in southern Poland; 22 units of the V110-2.0MW turbines for the EP 44 project, and 11 units of the V110-2.0MW turbines for projects in northern Poland.

Europe's Largest Floating Solar Plant Launched (Int'l Report)

In Rhone Valley, Southern France, the 17-MW OMEGA1 floating solar project -- Europe's largest floating solar facility -- is reported to now be online. The project was developed by Paris-based AKUO ENERGY.

EBRD Financing Ukraine Dnepro-Bugsky Wind Farm (Int'l, Funding)

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), under its Ukrainian Sustainable Energy Lending Facility III (USELF III), is confirming a €250 million facility to partially finance construction of the 110-MW Dnepro-Bugsky Wind Power Station LLC wind farm in Oleksandrivka, Ukraine.

Dnepro-Bugsky Wind Power Station LLC is owned by Akuo Energy SAS (France), Saffelberg Investment NV (Belgium) and Aeolus Invest NV (Belgium). The 25-turbine Dnepro-Bugsky project is expected to come in at €188.64 million. Nordex is supplying the turbines. The Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF) and French green IPP, Akuo Energy are reporting the signing of financing for the 50-MW Akuo Kita Solar power plant in southern Mali. When completed, the €78 million ($96.8 nillion) plant will be the largest solar plant in West Africa. Masdar Takes Stake in Montenegro Onshore Wind Farm (Int'l, M&A)

Masdar reports it has inked a share purchase agreement with Paris-headquartered Akuo Energy, the leading French IPP in renewable energy, to acquire 49 pct of Krnovo Green Energy, a subsidiary of Akuo Energy and owner of the now operational 72-MW Krnovo Wind Farm -- Montenegro's first wind energy project.

The Krnovo Wind Farm incorporates 26 GE wind turbines and supplies approximately 45,000 households under a 12-year power purchase agreement with the state utility operator.

RSA Global Completes First Dubai Rooftop Solar Project (Int'l)

Multinational logistics firm RSA Global reports the launch and implementation of its first solar rooftop project atop its facility in Dubai Logistics City, Dubai South. The installation, which was developed and completed by Dubai-based joint venture SirajPower, will generate 1.1 MW and provide an alternative source of electricity for the next 15 years and generate 90 pct of the energy required for the facility.

SirajPower, which delivered the project under a fully financed leasing scheme, is a 2016 joint venture between Akuo Energy of France and Corys Environment of Dubai. Akuo Completes 150-MW Texas Wind Farm Construction (Ind. Report)

French renewable power producer Akuo Energy reports construction has been completed on the 150-MW Rocksprings wind farm in Val Verde County, Texas. The wind farm incorporates 53, 2.3-MW wind turbines and 16 units of 1.72-MW machines supplied by General Electric. GE Energy Financial Services provided tax equity and UK-based investor John Laing Group plc injected $85 million cash equity.

The wind park has two separate power purchase agreements (PPAs) in place -- An international firm will buy 100 MW of the generated electricity for 15 years, while US retail giant Walmart Stores Inc (will purchase the other 50 MW under a 12-year deal. John Laing Takes Majority Stake in 149-MW Texas Wind Farm (M&A)

UK-based John Laing Group plc reports it is investing $85 million for a majority stake in Akuo Energy, the French renewable power producer controlling the 149-MW Rocksprings wind project in Val Verde County, Texas. The acquisition is John Laing's third renewable energy investment in the US.

The Rocksprings project will incorporate 53 General Electric (GE) 2.3-MW wind turbines plus 16, 1.72-MW turbines. The facility will sell its output to two investment grade corporate off-takers.
