Swiss solar equipment maker Meyer Burger Technology AG in partnership with CEA INES are reporting a new 23.4 pct heterojunction 72 cell module performance record at 410 W. The record module was produced in Thun, Switzerland, on Meyer Burger's SmartWire Connection Technology (SWCT) manufacturing PECVD and PVD equipment. Meyer Burger Wins $16Mn Malaysian PERC Equipment Order (Int'l)

Swiss solar equipment maker Meyer Burger Technology AG is reporting receipt of a €13.4 million ($16.3 million) repeat order from an unnamed customer for its MB PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Contact) cell technology.

The order is for its MAiA 4.1 system for rear side coating of PERC solar cells, which will be used at a production plant in Malaysia. The Swiss firm also secured an order for its fully-integrated FABiA 4.1 platform from the same customer for a manufacturing facility in China. Deliveries of the equipment are slated to begin in Q3, 2018. Meyer Burger Wins Italian 200 MW HJT Cell Lines Order (Int'l)

Swiss solar machinery maker Meyer Burger Technology AG is touting a $45.7 million "strategic contract" for equipment to produce up to 200 MW of bifacial Heterojunction (HJT) solar cells for an un-named purchaser. Under the deal, two HJT cell lines will be delivered and installed beginning in mid 2018. The lines are expected to be in full production in 2019. The HJT equipment will replace the customer's existing thin-film technology which to has delivered more than 500 MW of installed PV capacity to date. Meyer Burger and the Italian solar manufacturer have also formed a joint development partnership to bring average HJT cell efficiencies beyond 23 pct. Meyer Burger Reports Solar Cell Production Technology Orders (Int'l)

Germany-headquartered Meyer Burger Technology Ltd is reporting the conclusion of two contracts totaling approximately $19.588 million with existing Asian customers for high-tech equipment for the mass production of high-quality solar cells.

The equipment utilizes scalable MB PERC technology on the MAiA 2.1 system platform which will deliver a significant increase in cell efficiency, according to aMeyer Burger statement.
